New 5968a

I'm still completely shocked, but I received an offer to purchase this beautiful 5968a. Talk about an incredible watch. I purchased a 5167a from the grey market a couple of years ago and didn't quite bond with it so I set my sights on a 5164a, 5168g or, if extremely fortunate, the 5968a. Stunned is an understatement to purchase with my name on the certificate.

This 5968A is a great version of the Aquanaut. Enjoy it well!

Thank you! The action to the chronograph is interesting. Seems firm but crisp. Is it your experience that the Chrono pusher experience is a "firmer" action than say a Speedmaster or Daytona?

I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily any firmer - maybe more solid and elegant.

I agree. That is the plan. Since it is my only Aquanaut, I'm enjoying on the black for now.

major congrats! I love it on the black strap.
I'm also waiting for the call on this one, my AD said highly likely in the next few months, i don't want to get too excited as you never know if its actually coming.

How's it compare to your 5212A?

Well, two completely different watches. Love them both. The 5212a has been a great daily. Love the weekly calendar function and it is a true “strap monster.”

The 5968a is a big watch but about right on my wrist which is a bit larger. I am still figuring out the sizing of the composite strap to see if I’d like to shorten it. The 5968a is probably the watch I’ve lusted over the most for the last couple of years.
