Rolex R100200 (steel 36mm silver no date Oyster Perp.) from 1990? This number right?
My 1990 Rolex booklet has R100200 under a 34mm silver steel no-date Oyster Perp chrono. I have this exact one in a complete set and wanted to know the history but there is NOTHING on the 'Net about a Rolex 100200.
The paperwork from the watch is also filled out with 100200 as the number. Now in that little Rolex OYSTER booklet from the early 1990s that starts out "I Want A Good Watch" (we all have a copy of it), there it is on page 10. Beautiful stainless chrono, but the number 100200 seems meaningless outside of the booklet and the paperwork. I know there are many Rolex experts on here and many of you have this exact watch. Any idea about the number? Many thanks! |

It's a classic piece, and great to have a full set

One more question (if anyone ever comes back to this thread) and that is what the heck is the difference between the Air King and the 1002? Same 1570ish movement, or is it 1560? No one has an answer that I know...
Thanks! |

The Air-King case is 34 mm and the 1002 is 36mm.

No disrespect intended, please pardon my ignorance. Are all 1002 36mm? I've seen many advertised as 34mm. OP said his was 34mm. I've handled at least two that were 34mm. Did it change at some time? I'm absolutely ready to learn. I thought the 1018 was the 36mm and the 1002 was the 34mm.

Yes, the 1002 is 34mm. Wears a bit bigger with the bracelet.
I guess it's a step up from the Air-King but either watch is underrated. Small watches are coming back! |
