Swapping a Royal Oak dial
Will AP let you buy a blue dial for a watch that was sold with a silver or grey dial?

You can have APSC swap the dial, but the price charged will be an exchange price – you wont be getting your original dial returned along with the watch.

I remember reading a few threads on this previously, and I know someone posted that you could swap black or white dials, but not blue, because it was a boutique exclusive.
I have never checked with APSC myself though. |

A friend swapped the silver dial of a 15400st to a blue but the date was kept white. They didn't change the date window to a blue one.

Do you have a pic? This would be interesting to see..like a Nautilus. Could be worth it if you bought a 15400 silver or black for ~13k. what's a blue dial run?

I don't have one because he sold it right after the dial change. The reason I think was that the indicator of seconds was misaligned

It was nice though. If you did't know what the blue 15400 was look like you wouldn't mind the difference

I doubt it can be done in the UK where we don't even have a boutique that sells the blue dial 15400. I suspect they might do it if you agree to a service as well, but basically white and black are OK.

Perhaps it differs by county. Based on the responses, I searched for an older thread, which a member was told by the US APSC that blue dials were not avaliable.

For reference I recently contacted Betsy at Clearwater and was told that I could not have a blue dial put into a silver dial 15450 for ~ 2 years. I had an idea...it went poof

Shame. Good idea too. Must want to get production and supply running on the new models before having spares on hand?

Hi guys
I spoke with the London Service Centre today and they were extremely helpful and extremely friendly; a thoroughly good start to my AP journey. The lady I spoke to confirmed that they will swap-out a dial as long as that model is available with that colour dial. For instance; in December last year, if I had a SS Silver dial 15450 I couldn't swap out that dial for a Blue dial as on that reference, only the Gold came with a Blue dial. However, now that the Blue Dial SS 15450 has been launched, if I buy a Silver Dial model, I can in the future swap the silver dial for a blue dial. The lady also confirmed that the watch would not have to be serviced at he same time. I have my name down with a few dealers for the Blue dial 15450, but they are in high demand and I don't hold out too much hope. So I'm no looking for a Silver dial 15450 and I will see how I get on, and then potentially swap the dial out in the future. If I get lucky and get allocated a blue dial model when it's released, then my wife gets even luckier as she will likely get the silver dial model!!

I didn't ask about the cost, thought I'd save that as a surprise!! My assumption is four figures, but no idea really!!

Interesting...so they didn't mention a waiting period before the blue 15450 dial would be available? Could there be different policies in the US v UK?

I'd also be interested to hear about the date wheel...will they leave it white? If so, that would be an interesting look. Would they be able to swap that as well?

Good work, Vince, sounds like AP are trying to make their customers happy, and this is a great way to get hold of a blue dial, esp in the UK. Could you ask again how much a dial swap on 450 and 400 to blue would actually be?
