Use a Mr Coffee and a Keurig mostly out of convenience. I have a French press that I really should use more often. A coffee snob I'm not, nothing wrong with that though.

technivorm moccamaster. Worth every penny.

It's one of few machines that consistently produce the same even brewing temp. It's the Rolex sub of drip coffee makers.

Otherwise I like French press.

A burr grinder is more important for espresso. With regular drip coffee, the grind consistency doesn't play as big of a role.

I use a french press and Hario dripper.

Because a french press does not use paper filters, the oil from the beans is not captured and the coffee will have a stronger, fuller taste. Anything with a filter will produce a smoother, lighter taste. Depending on what you like, one system may be better for you. I like both.

If you're looking for an automatic machine, look at the Bonavita or Moccamaster.

Thanks everyone. Because I drink coffee alone, I'm unsure I'd need a drip maker, but I love what I read about boba vita and technivorn. I've adored French press coffee too. I welcome you thoughts about more .. My fav thus far is also Marley coffee Jamaican blue mtn

French press..though in Aussie we call it a plunger so I "take the plunge" often.
Great way to be able to regulate the strength of the coffee. Without a steamer for the milk though it's good to pour the coffee, add the cold milk and then microwave the cuppa before drinking for 30 seconds to make it hot enough. With really good finely ground coffee , eg: Lavazza Oro, it's possible to get that dusty, caramel look on the top like a real coffee should have.
I travel with a small plunger because in many countries it's quite impossible to get a tasty coffee which is strong enough. In UK it's the norm in a "cafe" to pay 3pounds 50 [roughly $7 AUD] for the product of a machine where the beans are sitting at the top and one button is pushed to fill the cup. Whereas in a petrol [gas] station in Italy you can get a Macchiato for 2 Euros which will keep you trying hard to remain under the speed limit for the next two hours!
A good coffee is as important as a good watch!!! Lots of depressingly bad value out there..

Conical burr mill is a must. I bought my Barratza for my French press, but it makes a consistent brew in the automatic drip (using the mesh screen, not a paper filter).

It's hard to find fresh Columbian Supremo beans in the stores here, so I have them drop shipped from Coffee Bean Direct.

Same setup here.

I have to say that I liked the coffee out of my previous KitchenAid a bit better than the Moccamaster, but the MM is definitely better made (and actually serviceable)

I freely admit to being a "coffee nut" having gone through all the various 'stages' and equipment over 25 years or so.
When I don't have a date for my favourite coffee shop I usually just have a Robert Timms coffee-bag unless I can be bothered to load up the plunger.
Saturday and Sunday are 'good-coffee' days when I fire up the Diadema Perfetta and make Son and myself some real coffee using premium beans from my Melbourne Roaster who sources his green beans from Ethiopia, Columbia, etc.

Breville grind and brew for me...makes a good cup of Joe, easy to maintain/clean, and stands up well to daily use. We use whole beans from a locally-owned coffee shop most of the time. Our favorite coffee is EduScho Crema whole bean - we load up on it every time we go to Europe - but I have never found it for sale here in the States. If anyone knows of a source for it on this side of the pond (or someone who would send it here for a reasonable shipping cost), please pass it along.

Best,
Skip

Aero press from Morecoffee.com. I also buy green beans and roast my own. Coffee starts going stale two weeks after being roasted. If anyone is interested in learning more, PM me and I'll help you out.
