You really don't have to venture into DC. There are many nice quaint restaurants in old town Alexandria. Do a Google search.

If you want a great DC atmosphere and all around good food + city experience, look no further than Le Diplomate on 14th Street. You will need to make reservations well ahead of time. word to the wise, if you are on the escalator on the metro rail and standing stand to the right. commuters walk up and down them quickly.

I second del Frisco's also. Get a table upstairs, kind of a busy place though.
I liked the steak and we also had a huge seafood plate of some sort. |
