Safari 101: When an elephant charges, hold your ground.

There are many red smudges in the bush that stand testament to what happens when you run like these geniuses did.

Believe me, it does! I lived on the dark continent for a few years, I've been charged many times. We got charged one day by a big bull and I was eye level to his knees, it took every ounce of self control to not try and high tail it out of there.

The first two or three charges are just mock charges to size you up. If you hold your ground they'll back down, if you run (or drive) it's game over, now the most important thing in that elephant's life is to destroy you, and they are relentless.

Good times
