Smooth platinum bezel question
Seems like the theme on the forum of why they are smooth is because platinum is too hard for tooling.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I disagree. I think it’s because that’s just the look Rolex chose to set it apart easily from a distance. After all, they have to cut the grooves in the pusher screw downs on the platona, don’t they? Opinions? Does anyone know for sure? |

The Yachtmaster platinum bezel has a lot of intricate work. Platinum may be harder to work, but Rolex can do it.

I can't imagine it's a technical production limitation. More likely design decision by Rolex

Definitely a design choice. They even make crowns and pushers of platinum and the yacht master bezel like someone mentioned. Of course they could make a platinum fluted bezel.

Seems reasonable.
