1661 finally arrived!

Thanks to member Addy616 for securing the allocation from the boutique in Italy and arranging the deal. It got held up in customs for a bit but I couldn't be happier now that it's here.

It is very lightweight and almost forget I have it on, especially compared to my 44mm AP. I'm not a big fan of the strap material itself, but love the contrast of the blue stitch. Lume is definitely a blueish green, not completely blue as some other pics have shown. I'll post some lume shots in the next few days.

Great pick up. The European on-line boutiques had stock until quite recently.

I am waiting on mine from a US boutique and hoping it will be ready within a week or two. The pics are making me even more excited. Enjoy!

They took it offline last Monday, but it should be back online in a couple of weeks.

All European boutiques got 3 watches.

Nice, watch looks fantastic, thanks for sharing and enjoy!

Ditto on your thoughts of the stock straps. I have straps from the 984/985 models ready to pair with the 1661 when it arrives

I'll likely have something made custom that has matching blue accents I'm thinking

I have hunch that a lot of 1661 owners are going to do just that; other than the matching color contrasting stitching the design of the stock straps really disappoints me. Please do share any custom work you end up getting. Genuinely excited for you.

Even though this is a regular series production model and not a LE/SE, is there anything else different about the rest of the package set, from box to papers included?

Love the size, dial, blue sandwich and accents, green lume, carbotech....

Awesome pickup. Congrats. Interesting that you don't like the sportech strap.

Thanks, will do. Box appears to be the same as other current models from what I've seen. I'll post pics when I get a chance

Lume shot is next to my AP ROO. Obviously a blueish tint but by no means is it blue lume.

Thanks all, I'm very pleased with it.

1 odd thing I noticed... the rotor is a good bit louder than any previous watches I have owned when it spins. Possibly due to the carbotech material? I saw a review online that mentioned it and can confirm it is slightly louder. Not an issue, just an observation.

Ceramic bearings are used which are inherently louder. The case material also factors in as some materials deaden the sound while others amplify it. You should hear the BMG - sounds like an engine. I suspect the Carbo would be similar.
