Icon20 Thoughts on Vintage Rolex

ROLEX: 18k yellow gold Rolex Day-Date with aftermarket diamonds; 36mm case, champagne dial with diamond markers, president bracelet; (31) round brilliant cut diamonds, 3.0mm = an estimated 3.00 carats, Good/I-J/SI1-SI2; Model 18038.

I am paying about 13K for this.

Please note that this is not for sale or buying post. Just looking for input to see if i am not being taken advantage of.

I do appreciate your attention and input.

Aftermarket mods are usually polarizing. So are diamond bezels.

Also would be concerned about the quality/craftsmanship of the mods. Is the work recent? What if the diamonds start popping out (good luck saving them)? Any warranty?

The resale market for that piece will be limited.

I'd use that 13k for a pre-owned Sub.

Trash, unless of course you’re into oversized wheels and body kits on your 1990s Hyundai

Thank you all,, Yea i was wondering ,, The quality seems okay but diamonds seems to be genuine/authentic.

I might have to take my chances on AD.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, . . . . . . . uh uh.

Buy new from an AD <or a trusted seller here> and sleep at night.

That looks like an older bezel based on the style... diamonds are probably genuine but good luck finding a buyer... figure an extra $500-$800 for genuine Rolex replacement parts (dial and fluted bezel)
