Is the 5711 officially gone?

The olive green 5711 has been taken off their website. Is the 5711 officially gone?

Beginning to grow on me now. We were choosing watches to take with us to the beach and my wife says, 5 different 5711 dial variations but not a single tiffany coloured one in sight.

Definitely not forgotten considering the prices as of late.

I got mine when it was 60k.

Gonzo. I hope the replacement is more like the 3700 with no seconds hand. So much more elegant, if they do have to have a seconds hand they should at least hack.

The later 5711 variants with the 26-330 SC do hack.

The replacement could already be here in the shape of a steel 5905. The right size and wrist presence. More dial and strap options to be offered soon?

Nato and rubber would of been nice if sold altogether.

Amazing that a watch that in the early 2000s they could hardly give away become so wanted. I guess that’s the way most collectable pieces become collectable

Yeah, they couldn't give it away in the early 2000s because they didn't make it in the early 2000s. It wasn't produced until 2007.

Completely different watch. Complicated, busy, and too big for most at 42 x 14.3mm. Very much unlike 5711 in all its simplicity and thinness which make it a pleasure to wear.

Obviously. However the 5712 '26 and '80 are also all very different watches from the 5711 and share the same case profile.
I was suggesting that having released the 5905 in steel with bracelet it isn't beyond imagination that they could release other references with the same case and bracelet profile thus adding to their existing portfolio of 'sports' watches.

I've always wished the date was the same color as the dial.

I am so glad it’s not, the edges of the dial are black. Only the centre of the dial is blue, besides its hard enough to read the date on a white background let alone a very dark blue one.

The white box also adds balance and looks like a marker at distance.

Plus, it stayed true to the original. It’s a homage to the 3700 much more than the newer blue jumbos are to the original RO.
