How often are you in the vintage section on TRF?

Since Covid started I seem to be hanging around on TRF multiple times per day and I must say that I am so happy that this forum exists…feels like home!

I’m not only in the vintage section these days since my love for vintage Seikos has starting to be picking up as a result to the booming Rolex market which takes out a bit of joy for me…anyway, would be cool to see how often other members are here…

Much more often as the Rolex General section has sprouted so many inane threads. I don’t find that here.

Also, I am now 100% Vintage in my small collection and enjoy seeing some of the projects here.

For me vintage is anything pre year 2000.
There’s a lot of very nice modern timepieces but I still prefer vintage over modern, even in Rolex.
And TRF is addictive…

I plead the Fifth on this!

I voted several time a day, sometimes I go to the general section but rarely find something interesting.
before I go to sleep I take a look at the Classifieds that works better then counting sheep

Couple of times a day just to see if there is anything new… This section is much more entertaining than general discussion area. Love seeing some new find from grandpa, even if they do go south more often than not… This session is at an end clocking in at a little under 4 minutes.

Im finding myself in here much more often. Like the watches themselves, the vintage section reminds me of the old TRF when the discussions were about the watch, the passion, the horology, something I cant seem to find anymore in the General section. Everything in there seems to be the same topic over and over. You can only beat a dead horse so many times, I only go in there about once a month.

A few times a day. I split my collection interest between vintage and modern but my reading on the forum is mainly here. I check in the general section too, but the topics are so redundant and less about the actual watches and more about the challenges of acquiring, rumors, etc.

I think the vintage section is the best part of this forum. As others have said the General Discussion forum has gone a little wacky since the beginning of the new Ceramic era and the grey market boom/supply shortage. I always love learning about vintage Tudor & Rolex on this vintage forum and enjoy chatting with all you!

Vintage section doesn't have twenty thousand incoming threads per day AND it's filled with really cool pieces and knowledge... I much prefer it over here.

Same here. The knowledge over here is helpful.
I have three five-digit pieces with the newest being a Y-Serial GMT II, the oldest a 7XXXXXX DateJust. I think of the five-digit models as vintage and so visit this forum more often that the others.

I really do not care for modern Rolex but love the 5 digit and earlier references. I have learned a ton here, had some guidance that helped me in a pick up or two and dissuaded me from some less than stellar offerings. I am a big fan of this forum.

Great to see so much love for us “vintage guys”…was a bit afraid that people were going to comment and say “I seldom step foot in this geezer-deranged place : )

Two to four time a week for me unless there's an exceptionally interesting thread aligned with subjects I'm curious about; in that case I check in daily.

Daily. I don’t post daily, but enjoy reading the vintage side of TRF and the conversations and info in the threads here much more than the general forum.

I've been on a few times a day for 10 years, and still I've only just scratched the surface of all there is to know about vintage Rolex.

It really is endless, but when we pool our knowledge as a community we can usually figure stuff out. That's what makes the forum valuable.
