15450st vs jumbo

Hi guys,

I’m looking to buy my first Ap. I went to the boutique in Paris and tried one a few models just to look for the correct size. Is the 39mm too big for me or does it fits nicely?
15450st retails for 16.800€ vs the jumbo ss at 21.300€.

I’ve been looking on the grey market and you can find the 37mm new unworn for about 12-13k. Big price difference. What do you guys think, save some more and get the jumbo or should I get the 15450st.

I think you can wear either, so just up to you, which do you prefer?

I would pick the Jumbo - a true classic. The gold is a personal matter of taste, but I would go with steel.

I would def go for the steel. It was just to try the size because they didn’t had the one is steel

Get the jumbo. If you get the 450 you’re still going to be thinking about the Jumbo. If you get the Jumbo you’re not going to be thinking about the 450.

I think both work, but the 39 looks a bit more in your face. The 37 I think fits your wrist better. (I'm assuming the grey dial is the 37mm)

That being said, I like the gold on you better than the stainless.

I would get the 15450. I value the higher WR rating and the general robustness of it. The Jumbo is super elegant all-around, but for my lifestyle (and my budget) the 450 fits the bill.

the WR is the same. But it is a big step up in price and not easy to justify, unless its a watch you really want.

They are both 50M WR

At this level I wouldn't buy based on purely a cost saving!

Making the wrong decision and getting the 15450 based on cost will cost you more in the long run if it’s not the 15202 you really wanted.

If you want the 15202 go for it!

Good choice on the jumbo. I was going to vote for it. Can't go wrong with gold either!

Its a question of what you like really. If you like the 15450, you get to save so much money what can be better than that?

If you like the jumbo, then think hard. Relook at finances maybe cut spending elsewhere and get it.

If everyone likes the same thing in this world how boring that would be.

Apart from taste, intrinsically I dont see one being really "better" than the other. When we buy watches we buy emotion. Both simple non complicated watches, slight difference in size, equally reliable if you look at them objectively.

Other than a small WIS circle no one will appreciate the classic-ness of the jumbo over the 15450, if that matters to the amount of enjoyment you derive from the watch.

Both look great on you.... That new grey dial is stunning though. I'd go with that

So, so true.

Jumbo fits you like a glove. Glad to hear you decided on that.

I've bought an unworn 15300st G series with the rare blue dial instead of the 202. I prefer the seconds hand and the longer power reserve and I think it's more robust for daily wear. Delivery should be hopefully at the end of this week. Pictures will follow soon :)

I think you made the best decision in the end! Hard to argue with the proportions of the 15300. Congrats in advance.

Agreed. You will enjoy the 15300. You get the proper size (39mm)and modern features such as quick set date. When I purchased my 15450 if I could have had a new 15300 I would have done that.

Agreed as well! I need one bad, but they are impossible to find full set in decent condition.
