First Chronograph

Hello all,

I have made the decision of entering this world by obtaining a Speedmaster, based on what I have seen and read in here and elsewhere. However, I would like your help in identifying the Speedmaster that fits my wishlist checkbox. This includes:

1. Automatic winding

2. No date

3. Exhibition/Transparent case back

4. Ceramic bezel / Steel case

So far, the CK 2998 meets the above criteria, however, I would like to keep the Paul Newman look for the Daytona, if I ever get to reach there...

Any suggestions?

The CK2998 (all three variants) don't meet your listed criteria. They are all manual winding and don't have an exhibition case backs.

the Omega Speedmaster Professional 3573.50 'Sapphire Sandwich'?

it ticks all the boxes except the ceramic bezel, not bad at all

I've been an automatic chronograph with date collector for awhile and I'm not sure I know off hand of any watch that meets all four of your criteria.

A lot of the Speedmasters with automatic winding have dates. There are Speedmasters with manual winding, sapphire casebacks, but I think they lack ceramic bezels. A ceramic bezel Daytona has a solid caseback. JLC Deep Sea has a solid caseback, and I'm not sure about the bezel. Tag Carreras have dates but the rest of your criteria. I may wrong, but I think you've got your work cut out for you.

I don't think you'll find an Omega chronograph that suits this description. Steel Speedmasters don't have ceramic bezels, and the ones without date displays require that you crank the mainspring by hand each morning.

The Rolex Daytona reference 116500 comes close (no transparent case back).
