Pam 904
Don’t know enough about brand.
Saw a 904 today on a cruise and the grey sunburst dial just popped at me and called my name. What are thoughts? Only willing to budge 10%.

Any input on movement? Read this is a 2018 model. Curious if good in house.

If you’re okay with the Due line, it’s a striking dial for sure.

Well, some will say that a Luminor, with its pedigree and history, should not have a water resistance barely good enough for casual swimming (at best). That the Due is a fashion watch. Others don’t care, and like the Panerai design language regardless of the Due’s technical limitations. Up to you. It’s your wrist. |

Thanks. Yeah, only 30 ft but don’t want it as a diver. I love the Panerai design but the cases are too big for me. 44 most I’ll go. This one just fits so nicely and with a quick change of band to black croc, can be dressy as well. Don’t think I’ll pull the trigger. Any recommendations for a similar look in 42mm?

If you want a crown guard, I’d go classic and try one of the 44 mm Bettarini-style cases (for example, 000, 005, 111, 390, 560, 564), which usually fit smaller wrists better than 1950 cases (like 312/1312). If those are too big for you, even though Panerais are meant to be big, try finding a 337 or 338. They are thin 42 mm with good WR, and with the Radiomir wire lugs they will wear small. A compromise between the two above would be a 512, a 42 mm Radiomir 1940 (Luminor lugs instead of wire style, with Rad crown instead of Luminor). |

For the OP, if you're still deciding -> https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=637743
Like you, i'm not familiar with panerai & ordered the 904 after i walked past the boutique (the 904 was on display) I love the size, thickness (or thinness in this case) and quick change system for easy strap swap (wish every watch company does this lol) Water resistance of 30m is fine with me since the deepest i'll go into is a swimming pool. I'm fine with the non in-house movement; was told it's actually a Richemont group movement modified by Panerai (caseback is closed anyway) I feel the 904 is a good bargain and it's all the Panerai i'll ever need OP: do share pics if you've gotten yourself a 904 |

I like the 904, the dial is awesome. The size and case style are nice too. I've considered one, it fits nice and thin, and I don't care about the water resistance.
I've had a standard 44mm Luminor in the past (PAM176) and although it wore large, I really like it, and miss it. The 904 is much different, much smaller and thinner on the wrist. I much prefer the luminor case with the crown guard, over the radiomir cases. So, while I'd love to get another 44mm Panerai, I would love to get a 904 also, for something a little smaller and more refined. They are both great, and quite different.
