Pam 232 strap 26x 26 vs 26x 24 mm

My good friend offered to make me a leather strap for newly acquired 232.

As I don't have experience with 26 mm straps can I ask forum owners for recommendation and comments? ( some photos would be great)

Would 232 look better on 26 mm straight or tapered to 24 mm strap?

I only mention that I will be wearing this watch for all occasions , sometimes to office , travel or weekends in regular rotation with other watches.

Thanks everyone.

I think 26 at the lugs is the right call, but you could have it taper down to 22, for example.

Thanks Cru.

What I was looking for was advise from 232 owners if they prefer their straps tappered to 24 mm or straight 26 mm at buckle .

I have 610 which is originally 27 mm at lugs and 22 mm at buckle, but my personal preference for this model is strap tapered only to 24 mm at buckle.

Hope my question makes sense now

It does, as did your first post, it’s just that my reading comprehension was a bit off.

As I’m in the “would like a 232 some day club”, I’m afraid I don’t have much to add. Good luck finding the right strap!

OEM size is 26x22

But for piece like 232,26x26 should be okay

Never tried 26x24 as I usually buy the ready made straps instead of made to order and my 24mm buckles are permanently on the other straps attached to my luminors

26/24 or 27/24 is my preference. 26/26 for the 47mm Luminors. The 47mm Radiomirs are sleeker, especially 232 or 249. So I prefer the subtle taper. Good luck with your strap collection!

Thicker straps like ammos /leathers/canvas can be straight without taper. Formal straps like gator could be tapered. i have had a 26/26 kevin ammo on my 190; which is only 45mm, so 47mm would look only better!

Warning pic heavy!

Thanks to my good friend Nick I managed to try his few 26 x 26 mm ammos and canvas.

Just few quick thoughts:

1. Ammo 26 x 26 style is really great for casual, weekend warrior.

2. Gator would be probably better in 26 x 24 or 22 mm version

3. Beige canvas just blew my mind. It was my last option but with brown dails looks perfect.

4. Although lot of people loves long tails, my personal preference at least for Radomir would be bit shorter strap. All photographed straps are 145 mm ( which is Nick favourite) and looks great , but I think that personally 125 or 130 would fit me better.

5. For calf option ( no ammo) OEM is hard to beat

Thanks for looking and I will be keeping you updated.

Everyone knows that the best part of this game is hunting...

Pam 232 strap 26x 26 vs 26x 24 mm

I’d recommend the other factor you consider when choosing strap length is the thickness. I like fairly short tails as well. I initially ordered a number of my custom straps at the standard OEM length. I find some of them to be a bit shorter than Is ideal when the straps get thicker, so now I’ve worked out a system for the best lengths for me at various thicknesses.

Thanks. This is really good comment. I will for sure consider this while looking for custom straps.
