FS: 1962 Rolex Submariner Ref: 5508 Gilt Chapter Ring

Serial # 763,XXX

Case: Very nice "no crown guard" case that has previously been polished and has some wear from use. The case has an incorrect caseback (for a reference: 1002) that has been fitted to the threads on the back so that it does screw closed and is water resistant. 
The caseback is stamped: 1002

Bezel/Insert: Very nice condition Rolex insert that has faded to and even light gray hue with and has light wear from use. 

Dial: Very nice gilt chapter ring dial with deep creamy hour markers. The lume on the markers is mostly intact with only a portion flaked off of the 6, 9, and 10 o'clock markers. The markers glow briefly when subjected to intense light, which is correct for dials from this period.  The glossy finish has aged to a matte finish.

Hands: Very nice gilt hands with lume that has aged to a few shades darker than the markers on the dial. 

Bracelet/Strap: Very nice newer Rolex 7836 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 12 links and 258 end links. The bracelet has some stretch and wear from use.Clasp is stamped: 4 72

Accessories/Extras:  This watch comes with only the watch as shown in the photos. 


The movement has just been given an overhaul service by Los Angeles Watchworks and is under service warranty until February 23, 2024.
