Rolex sea dweller 50th
Hello everyone,
New member from Michigan. I have always been very interested in watches. I finally got my first Rolex a few months ago. I got a Rolex datejust 41 rhodium diamond dial with jubilee bracelet (I will post a review with pictures at some point). Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had the urge to add another to my collection. I really like the ceramic Daytona, but don’t feel like waiting 5 years. I’m very interested in a sea dweller 50th anniversary. Given it’s an anniversary piece, I’m assuming the demand is pretty high. Have any of you had trouble obtaining one? If so how long has the wait typically been? Like I said earlier I’d love to have the Daytona ceramic with the white dial, I also considered a blue deep sea but I feel like it’s too thick. I’ve worn one in the past, and liked it I just thought it’s a bit too thick. With that being said I think the 50th anniversary would be a great medium. |

I think it depends on where you live and your relationship with the AD. Seems that the SD43 is in higher demand in some countries compared to others. I waited three months for mine.

Demand is high, supply is low. This means that unless you have an existing relationship with an AD, or Rolex begins to replenish AD’s display cases, it could be awhile. My gut feel is that you will soon see inventories increased and the SD50 will become easier to acquire.

Welcome! SD126600 is a great watch and a clear winner. Size is not overwhelming and i definitely suggest you go try it if you haven't already.

If u got your date just from an AD, go back and ask them about the SD43, they can put you on a list. I'm sure they rather sell to a local repeat customer. I purchased a black bay Tudor rose and also asked about the Daytona, a week after the Tudor purchased I got the call for a Daytona 500, just pure luck and yeah that ad/customer relationship.

Welcome. Back to the AD that sold you the piece, if you bought it at the AD of course, and get on one of their lists!

I can tell you are new here. Yes many of us have been waiting six months or longer with no SD43 in sight. Finding one at an AD has been challenging to say the least. They are available on the secondary market pretty readily but it will cost you a premium.

It's a fantastic watch and as you mentioned, a bit more wearable than the Dblue ...
The answer on this forum is usually buy both As to sourcing one, I would check in with the AD you bought your DJ41 from. Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk |

MRSP + Michigan sales tax is $12,031
You may struggle to get one at MRSP without a wait, so there's always the option of a trusted seller. David SW has one at $13,375 and there may be a deal to be struck, or there's a few on here in the for sale forum between $12,695 and $12,995 Not a massive premium to pay if you want one sooner, and less than the cost of a 10% price increase (if that happens before you were able to get one)

The SD43 is my current favorite watch and maybe my favorite Rolex diver of all time. The case size, bezel, dial, red text, cyclops, balanced bracelet, glide lock clasp. All work great for me. If you really want it go into the AD you purchased your DJ41 from and see what they say. Many times your physical presence may get you an item on premise but not displayed. If they do not have it contact a Trusted Seller here, pay a slight premium above msrp and tax and have your watch by 1030 tomorrow morning. You will not regret it.

I guess I’m going to have to pay my AD a visit. I’ll try to heckle them about a ceramic Daytona first and see what progress I make lol
