Icon10 Hard time w/ getting Hulk or YM2

Hey guys, need a little help. I know everyone is different and it's not that I want strangers to decide for me, but just curious. Hopefully somone on here has/had both.

Anyway, I have a deposit down on the Hulk and it “should” arrive at my AD in March/April. Now, Ive kinda had a thing for the SS YM2 for a while and keep going back and forth. 44mm is perfect for my wrist and admittanly Ive never tried on the Sub, so 40mm might not look too much smaller.

Lastly, to my auestion, lol how is the wrist presence of both? Its not that I meed anyone to notcie but at the same time, I want it to look unique/different.

Cheers

Joe

I own the Hulk and I’ve tried on the YMII several times but never pulled the trigger. Personally, it’s just too big for me. If you want to get noticed the YMII is the way to go. It’s pretty big and bold.

I feel that 40mm is the sweet sport for me. Not too big. Not too small. It seems every watch over 40mm ends up getting flipped. Your best bet is to try them both on and see if you can come to a decision. If you can’t get your hands on a Hulk today maybe you can find an LN to compare the size with the YMII. Good luck!

Yes same exact watch as the Hulk, just with a black bezel and black dial. Reference 116610LN.

The YMII, in my opinion, it is the single most underaprreciated Rolex on the market. Rarely seen in the wild and simply stunning piece that gets little hype. However, considering the bang for your buck, the Hulk is a no brainer that you can’t go wrong with. Go with the one who sings to you, my friend.

I've had both. Still have the LV-C.

The YM, at its core, is a chronograph. Yes, I know it counts down as opposed to up, but it's still a chronograph. I am more of a sub guy than a chrono guy. Plus, I never could get the fit right on the YM...skinny ass wrists.

So...if you're more of a chrono guy and you can accommodate a 44mm watch, then it just might be the one for you. If I was in the market for one, though, I would try to get the blue hands model. The new mercedes hands they rolled out at Basel last year just don't work for me at all. YMMV.

I prefer the yacht master. If you the sub you will want the yachtmaster but if you get the ym you will forget about the sub!!

Wrist presence is hard to beat the Hulk by any other SS Rolex. Its also a rare bird in the wild and the sunburst dial pops. The LVc is not the Sub you want if you want to go unnoticed. Its right up there with the Bluesy.

Maybe these will help

Both are great watches, IMHO. I love the Hulk, but would like it even more if it was a 43mm

I'd go for the LVc in SS, I like the YM2 more in YG.

If you're looking for wrist presence, then go with the YM2. It's very noticeable. If you're looking for a 'do anything' watch with a little je ne sais quoi then get the LVc.

Two great watches
The YM doesnt get a lot of love here but I really like it, it’s a beautiful watch but between both it’s the hulk for me
You can’t go wrong with either but go with what YOU like more. Chances are you’ll be back to Buy the other one shortly after.

I personally like bigger watches, wear it for a week and the 40mm will seem small on your wrist!

Does the lack of a cyclops make people assume it's not a rolex?

The YMII... for all those times in your life when you need to countdown from 10 minutes?

The Sub... for all those times in life when you need to dive to 300m (or Deep Blue for the times that you feel compelled to head more than 1km underwater)....

I must admit that I do race (small) yachts and use a countdown timer...but definitely not my YMII!

No disrespect to anyone with a YM2 as it does look decent on some ppl, but it's not my thing. Too large , useless complication, and does not seem as refined or tasteful as a sub Some people love it, of course. Definitely go to your ad and try on both several times for several minutes, wearing different outfits each time. That should help. If anything, a green Hulk may stand out and pop more. personally, I would much much rather have a Submariner. Any of the subs or a GMT BLNR.

Hulk by a mile. Too busy dial and too much text on the YM.

I always thought the YM II looked a bit gauche. Get the Sub.

I have a YMII and kermit. Both wear very different in look but they are special.

Hulk is too green for me by the way.

In SS I would vote for the LVC. It really is hard to beat and is in my opinion the best SS watch Rolex do. To be fair, the same would apply for TT and YG. I would still choose the Sub. I do like the YMII and if you could have both then great but to own only one it would the Sub all day for me!
