True Hulk Color

I’m considering adding a Hulk to join my Batman and DJII, i’ve Looked at so many different pics of the Hulk but it’s hard to see what the real color is. In some pics it’s a really vibrant green, in others it’s a much more subdued green, then in some pics it nearly looks black. Which one is it. I’ve never seen one in person.

The answer is all of the above in different lighting. I would see one in person before adding just in case.

That's the beauty of the LVc... it changes all of the time based on the lighting.

I'm heading to London tomorrow. I'll be visiting Watchfinder to see it in person. If I love it like I do in photos then I will get onto my AD's list.Excited!!

I bought one late last year without ever seeing one in person, and I was NOT disappointed. Love the coloring on both the bezel and the dial. Most pictures of the hulk shows an unfair color grade of the bezel (which also is the main concern people have), because the sunburst-dial is just incredible.
My main concern was that the watch would act like a “show off” on a daily basis. Luckily it doesn’t, because the color changes depending on the lighting. In natural sunlight it reallt pops, but when using it indoor, it looks just like an ordinary black dial. A fellow WIS has actually mistaken my watch as a Kermit (until he noticed the maxi case) because of the dial.

All in all – I love this piece, and since this was my first BNIB rolex, I’ll be keeping this one!

Attached pictures is an attempt to show how the dial behaves.

Beautiful photos! It's a true chameleon. I currently have a 114060 and I'm debating whether to add the LVc or flip the 114060 and just keep the Hulk?

For what it's worth, I owned an LVc for around 6 months before flipping for a LNc... I absolutely adored the green at first, but after a while I wanted the more classic, simple tones of the black. Wonder if anyone else has had the same situation as me? I'm sure I'm a minority!

Definitely go and see and wear one before buying.

The human eye can distinguish more shades of green than any other colour. It is a lot more sensitive to different frequencies which is why the hulk appears to range from almost black to vibrant green depending on the lighting.

The true colour I would say is rolex green. The colour you find on their latest cases at least in the sub range.

It can appear minty green, almost pastel in bright sunlight with reflections and almost black in a dark enviroment.

It’s my favourite watch for these reasons.

Give a rest will you.

Rolexes have had nicknames since the 60s.

It doesn't have just one colour as other friends said above.

It is really vibrant because of lighting and photoshop. Real life out side of sunlight it is just green. An overcast day will give you the sense of the actual.

This. You need to see one in person before buying. Don’t buy it just because of all the hype around it right now.

You might not be. From my readings, I have become aware that this watch was not a popular or big seller for Rolex for most of its existence. It only became popular as of recent when people started speculating about it being discontinued. So, I would imagine that many whom were once owners possibly let them go pre all the speculation, which has been going on for at least close to 3-years now.

In the end, to me and from the pictures that I have seen, this is either a love or hate watch with no in-between. I would have to see one in person and in the different lighting conditions to reach my own conclusion.

Like others have said, it's all of those colors. I never paid much attention to it for years because I'm not a green color person, but when I finally saw it in person I was blown away. It's gorgeous and versatile since the shade of green changes depending on the light conditions. I love that watch.

Yours is the exact reason why I have yet to purchase. May be intrigued enough at first to buy, but eventually lose interest.

Trying to capture the color of the LVc is a endless adventure with a camera. I took over a decade to do it with the Bluesy. The Hulk has a even greater color shift so maybe after 20 years of pic taking, I will do it justice.

I’ve seen it in person, and while an impressive sunburst dial, I just couldn’t do that much green.

Yes, go see a Blue dial one if you can, Subc is best, and see it in the ADs and by the window/outside in the sun, and you will get the range of colours it can produce, then just apply that in green to you mind.

Here's my pic thread on the issue.

There are so many beautiful photos of the Hulk, but in many of them it's difficult to tell the actual shade of green on the dial and bezel. That's where this video comes in, the main purpose was to show the actual green, up-close, in steady lighting and while moving it around. Notice the difference from the thumbnail still photo before playing and the actual color of the dial/bezel when the video begins.

Yeah, I owned the LVC and 114060 simultaneously, ended up selling the LVC. There are days when I still miss it, but it just wasn't for me.
