Authentic 16233?
Hello everyone,
Happy Sunday and New Year. I have this watch in my possession, I am 100 sure it's fake, but wanted to get some more informed positions. Watch weighs 117g, which is the proper weigh according to the chart I located. The biggest concern for me is the bracelet, the gaps where the band attaches to the case. Thank you |

We don't talk about what distinguishes a fake piece, we don't want people to learn faking techniques.

Do you think that the person/people who spend the money time and effort in creating the tools and equipment needed to make counterfeits (however unconvincing thry might be), don't have access to real pieces to compare their work? They probably take apart Daytonas and GMT's in order to try and make each individual piece as close as possible. Obviously they are unable to make a perfect copy thus we have people like on this forum who are able to pick them out of a line-up. They probably know better than the people here where their copies are lacking. I think that sharing how to spot fakes and getting thst info out there for more and more people to see will eventually save people heartache and grief. Just my opinion. The high end fakes are getting better every year, as the makers learn from their previous mistakes
Where do you think they get this information from ? – from the people buying them thinking they’re real ? – or from forums like this ? |

Only a rank amateur would come to a forum seeking insight. Someone with the machine tools to make a watch will not waste time and money scanning the opinions of a bunch of mooks on a watch forum. |

The guys making the watch probably think it's a perfect replica, right up until someone points out the flaws......which are then rectified in the next model. If making a perfect replica first time was possible, we wouldn't see all these half assed fakes. Giving fakers clues on what corrections to make in their next model doesn't help us get rid of these things. |

Folks
Manufacturers "may" check feedback on sites like these, but my concern is more the likes of "eBay con artists" who are attempting to sell fakes. They surely come here to "test" if there pieces can be passed off, and by telling them the "give-a-way" points, they then use photos hiding that "point" Additionally manufacturers are changing things to now pass our keen eyes like black balance wheel and hand stack. Hence I dont state what concerns me A
