Anyone Seen The 25th Anniversary ROO

Ive always found the oroginal design fairly appealing - but surprised there doesnt seem to be very much interest in the reissue?

Anyone seen one in person?

Is it just that folks would rather hunt down an original - or maybe the modern ROO are considered that much more refined and desirable?

I saw all of the new releases at the Vegas GTG. I don’t remember this one though.

Amazing watch with great balance and originality. Fantastic to see it reissued in such a true representation of the original, I believe the movment has been updated but not certain.

The 1 thing that maybe a challenge for the watch is the SS bezel...many AP lovers have grown to appreciate the care free ceramic bezel vs the often heartbreaking nicks the SS Bezel can show.

Nonetheless it is my favorite ROO and if I find myself in the market for a 42mm ROO, it would be my choice.

Yes, very good point about the bezel...i have become spoiled with the ceramic these days (and could see myself worrying about the scratch magnet that highly finished steel would bring into play).

Im also curious about the weight. Obviously, its not a lightweight watch but wonder how it compares to something like a Deepsea, for example. Or if it would potentially be better balanced.

I was second in line at my nearest Boutique but passed. I just don’t favor ROO and I need to get it through my head.

Movement is updated to latest 3120 with DD chrono, in line with other Offshore chrono. However the buttons are still rubberclad in blue, reminiscent of the original. Wish it was in blue ceramic. I don’t mind the steel bezel.

No luck so far, twice visit the boutiques in Singapore but they do not have it.

I have only seen it on display - have not tried it on.

I like it - a lot.

However, I prefer the more muted dial of the original and with that some more updates had been made (ceramic pushers, see through case back).

Some shots below

The re-issue

I agree, if I wanted a 42mm offshore this would be my choice. Tried one on at the London office a couple of weeks ago, it’s a great looking watch.
