Polish Oyster Bracelet

Ok I have a very simple question, I have currently my one and only DJII that I received this past Xmas from the Mrs. and I work in an office environment. Long story short is on the clasp of the oyster bracelet has some gotten light scratches from my desk and I am curious if I can use something like Flitz metal polish to lightly polish out the scratches without doing any harm to it’s value

Here’s the clasp and the picture looks worst than it looks in person

no no don't polish
please accept them as a watch life well lived

light polish when serviced in 8-10 years
watches to be worn scratches inevitable
unless watch is purely a investment --bad idea
then never wear and keep in safe
just my 2 cents

Polish Oyster Bracelet

I would suggest a different product, Cape Cod Cloth. But I do think you might leave it alone unless you are careful to tape off the brushed sides flanking the Polished center of the clasp and/or links.

The clasp isn’t seen by anyone but you, so waiting until a service is just fine IMHO.

Thank you Gents and it’s not an investment timepiece I received this fine watch from my bride of 33 years, it’s a funny story but we have been to Mexico several times over the years and one o my big kicks is to find an inexpensive replica to wear and no it’s not to fool anybody it’s just a travel gift to myself and they usually don’t last long but one would no expect so with a budget of about $50 ...lol

Any way this past time we went I went on my normal quest to find my souvenir and she told me not to get one and this past Xmas I found out why, I showed her the scratches and well and she said it’s a watch and it’s bound to happen no matter how careful you are so enjoy it and don’t tell me it’s running fast again....

I've had a few RolMex watches. Still have a DD in (mostly) gold, i SCOURED Cabo San Lucas for it years ago. The only all gold one! LOL! It runs pretty good, it must be 15 years old.

My wife bought me my DJ41, like yours did. What great gals! My wife gets tired of hearing how mine's running also. haha!

I have the same scratches (probably worse) and I've gotten used to the idea of just leaving them. I'll get a light polish when it gets serviced in the future.

Your watch is a beauty!

Eventually all accumulated scratches will blend to a nice even patina, let it be and have your watch polished by a RSC when it's time for a service and than enjoy the "new" watch experiences again.

Agreed, polish at service only. Like Rolex intended.

Well it’s at the RSC in Dallas for a timing issue so when I get it back i won’t touch the scratches or maybe the RSC elves will polish them out for me but I doubt it

And my wife is the opposite ...I was eye balling an Omegs Seamaster for what I considered a decent price and she said either you buy it or I will, well long story short I looked and looked at it and now it’s gone

Ha! You know that it's possible that it's not "gone"...
(You're going to find it again... in a box given to you by your wife, when you least expect it!).

So lucky we are, to have mates that we can enjoy, who enjoy us enjoying these little mechanical wonders.... Bravo!!

SeeDweller you are quite correct, I feel very blessed that my bride of many, many years is so giving, she has said it many times if it makes you happy just buy it but then common sense kicks in and I’m tighter than bark on a tree so I don’t spend the coin.
