I don’t plan on selling but I have kept track. The way I purchase, mine has maintained.

I have always enjoyed Panerai but the brand as a whole is a money pit. Except a few LE models when they are hot or a hard to find, just released model you will typically take a bath in the line. Even with that said I still like them, will own them again and will lose money again on them. Just not as much as I typically will buy pre-owned and complete at about 40% off msrp and trade or sell at about that figure or just a little less.

I suspect the price has reached bottom. I picked up a preown PAM 233 last year and quite happy with the acquisition price.

Yes, the PAM1320 houses the P.9011 movement while your PAM320 uses the P.9001 The other main differences are the blue seconds hand and the 'vintaged' bronze hour/minute hands.

I have one too. The mixture of manual wind, dome crystal, 1950 case and useful complications make it pretty stable. It’s one of the few non LE that have a strong following

Yup Pam 233 is one that holds, if you bought 2nd hand. At 7-8k or lower, you are going to have about 90-100% value retention. Its a great travel watch and has quite a few useful complications (AM/PM, Traveltime/GMT, 8days, resetting seconds, 100m WR). For the 2nd hand price its great value, plus the design is simple looks like a basic pam and is lowkey.

The Pam911 has gone up quite a bit since last year. Used they are around 10.000 Euros now.
That’s more than a 50% increase.

old thread but as we all have seen the market, no, their prices are dropping. Owning 2 panerais already, I couldn't care less as both my panerais are keepers. Imo, if you buy for investment/resell they ain't worth but if you buy it because you like it(As I do), you shouldn't care.

Panerai's are holding their value very well. Nobody is giving them away on the secondary market. I just bought a mint PAM 00112 and it was not cheap.

Always smart to purchase the more popular reference models such as the 111/112/233 etc if you only care about maintaining resale value IMO. Other than that there are so many cool references out there to choose.

I’ll add to this. My Panerai Pam 104 has actually gone up from what I paid. My Carbotech has maintained its value. The Carbotech market has always been very solid.
Panerai has always been a brand if you buy right, you won’t get hurt but who cares with a watch so sexy and unique looking. I have been watching the Panerai market to buy another and the market is solid and actually gone up on the models I am looking at. I am still looking at what model that will fit on my already filled collection.

It’s always been said that if you have to nickel and dime your luxury watch purchases, you can’t afford a luxury watch.

Well said:)

I have been "monitoring" the PAM market and would wholeheartedly agree with the above. Of course it's not like Rolex, but some of the models are going up and most are at least retaining value.

The difference between pre-owned and new is pretty much negligible for the popular models and some (Carbotech) will cost more...

Panerai is doing just fine. I'm glad everyone and their daddy doesn't have one. Of course, with Panerai coming out with a 40MM Luminor line of watches for the dainty wristed folks that might change.

Panerai is special to me- its the brand that got me into watches. I was in Maui with my family when i was still in high school, went into the rolex store with my dad and they had a small case of panerais and i tried on the 292 and from then on i was a watch guy.. Bought my first nice watch in college, panerai 111 and have been obsessed since the first day that watch showed up. Have had many panerais over the years now and still get excited everytime i see one. I picked up a 504 a few months ago that a local watch repair shop had for sale for $4750, it was a great buy, and also took delivery of a 42mm bronzo right before christmas and its such a cool watch! Will always love the brand and will always have a couple. Theyre not investments but why would they be
