Refuse to wear PM watches?

Just curious if there are people out there who wouldn't wear a PM watch at all and why

I wouldn't wear a watch with yellow or rose gold - just not for me. I might wear a white gold or platinum watch, but I doubt I'd be willing to spend the money to acquire one.

Once you wear a Platinum Rolex, it is tough to go back to anything else.

I’d definitely wear one, but so far I’ve just chose not to.

SS fits my style better at the moment, and if I’m honest, I have difficulty justifying the added cost of PM

I must admit to liking Pt better than SS, fwiw. I think most's objection to Pt is price. WG less so, pricewise. Not as big a fan of YG however!!!!

I would love to but just find them too ostentatious. Prefer the more humble stainless steel versions

I definitely would. I think it depends on the whole "look" of the watch to whether I would have it in SS or a PM variant.

I wear wg watches (non-rolex), not yellow or rose gold, primarily because I do not want to give a hint that it is a luxury watch.

For a dressier watch I prefer wg or platinum. For sports models - steel, gold or plat is just too heavy, and I can’t bang it around.

Refuse to wear PM watches?

I wear my White Gold Daytona all day every day, I have no interest in steel watches now.

I wouldn't wear PM personally. I'm not into conspicuous consumption and the steel Rolex models are already more expensive than what I'd like to show on my wrist, but I love them too much not to wear them....Furthermore I like steel because it's tougher than PM.....

I don't mind others wearing PM though! It's fun to see great PM watches on other peoples wrists.

I’m my experience this is not true. I’ve had several white Gold and several steel watches, there is no difference in durability.

I’d wear white gold or platinum...

For Rolex I wouldn’t mind a WG Daytona, or a vintage Day Date - silver stick dial.

For other brands? A platinum A. Lange & Sohne would be nice.

I like all metals but prefer PM over SS. I wear Pt, WG or SS WAY more often than RG. I like how the white PMs are under the radar but like the additional weight.

1. Pt
2. WG
3. SS
4. RG
5. YG

YG/RG are too ostentatious, especially at work and attracts unnecessary attention.

That’s why besides SS, I will wearing watches in WG,Pt, Ti and in rare cases, TT.

I love the size and classiness of my vintage 1803, and the look, weight, and feel of my 509. And I still like SS.

I love PMs. I don't wear any jewelry, so a Platinum wedding band and gold watches is my outlet for dressing it up. I also prefer the weight of a gold watch. I aspire to get a Platinum one day, but that hurts the wallet.....one day.

I'm not sure about that, my dad had a Rolex with a smooth gold bezel that was ridiculously covered in scratches.

For me, PMs are too blingy, YMMV.

PM scratches the same as SS.

White Gold isn’t blingy at all.
