I own the snoopy and it's not an entire subbdial occupied by some kind of Snoopy medallion....in fact they did that rightfully on the caseback with the enamel. I personally have loved this cartoon dog since youth and it having real relevance to Apollo XIII with the award just works perfectly for me.

If they wanted to put a gold medallion of the landing module etc, it should have been done @ the caseback like the classic Grand Seikos with the gold lion medallion....I wouldn't have minded that one bit.

Bottom line I went from gungho like everyone else for the 50th anniversary of Apollo XI (I even visited Kennedy Space Center recently so was ultra hyped)....to being less than luke warm from the news I've heard and what I think it's going to look like piecing together the details. Do I think 6969 watches will sell? Most definitely......just unlikely to me. Hope to be proven wrong last second when it releases and actually blows me away.

The LM was, and still is, an absolute marvel of purpose-driven engineering design. The LM was what landed men on the moon, kept them alive, and got them off of it. We have been able to land unmanned spacecraft and rovers on other planets and asteroids, but not men. I thought the Eagle medallion on the Pt 40th was very tasteful. I'm all for the product.

so is the gold re-release actually out in the market in limited quantities right now?
as I'm seeing them on 'civilians' on a few IG posts.

So 6969 pieces is a lot huh. An AD asked if I wanted to put a deposit dor one...im debating it. Ive been thinking of a moonwatch but is it worth buying the 50th over the basic hexalite one?

I think it’s a lot for a limited edition piece. On the other hand, only around 500-700 pieces will be allocated to the US market, so depending on the demand here, they might not be that easy to get.
I have a deposit down, but it is fully refundable once the watch is unveiled, if I decide that I don’t want it.

Yep. That’s very much in your face. I sure they’ll sell the lot in record time but certainly not my thing. I think it loses out in the spirit of the original being sidelined. That is a solid, functional flight tool to something an LA rapper might wear. Just my viewable

Based on all the Instagram posts by Omega hyping up the moon watch, are we all ready to see the new limited edition SS version?!

Omega needs to make this about the accomplishment and perseverance of mankind and not about the marketing BS surrounding ambassadors...

really?? other than omega-selected influencers/journalists/etc who have been posting on their sites and IGs, i haven't seen any paying customers publicize their incoming. even with the limited run, hard to imagine that a few wouldn't be thrilled to showcase theirs.

I swear I saw one incoming thread on it in that "other" forum. Let me see if I can find it. Gentleman flew to another country to pick it up. Stand by....

There is a 27 page thread about this on the omega forum.
Looks like the first posted incomings have been from the UK. Maybe 1 so far from the US.

Just got the call today. Me and my buddy's are coming in tomorrow. (California). We are 1 and 2 on the list.
Have arranged for pickup on July 20th. I have waited a year for this since having the OB start the wait list. I can wait one more week to have the receipt dated July 20, 2019.
My OB did say that deliveries often start first in Europe as it is closer to Switzerland.
Luckily, I don't have to fly to another country.

Great to hear! I’m also waiting in Calif. What OB did you purchase from?

Yes. If you jump over to the Omega forum, there has been several updates. Omega boutiques are receiving the first two watches on their lists first, then going down Omega's main list. If you're not #1 or #2, you will probably be looking at next month or later depending on where you land on Omega's list.

I believe this. I paid for 3 watches, me and 2 buddies on March 9, i.e. all at the same time. The first 2 have come in and we have to wait for the 3rd...... "next month, maybe".

Thank you. I have read that some people are willing to wait and try for specific numbers. For me it was more important to pick it up on July 20th, so I took the first 2. So in 4 days me and my buddy pick it up..... 4 days, hey that's just about as long as it takes to get to the moon. :-)

Just got an email offering this watch again. I assume this didn’t sell out. If anyone cares.

“Greetings from the Omega Boutique Short Hills, I hope all is well. If you have not already seen the spectacular photos debuted by Omega, I would like to inform you of one of the most exciting introductions from the brand in decades, the Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Moon Landing “Moonwatch” with Caliber 321 movement, in platinum !

At the moment, we do not have pricing on this timepiece, nor exact delivery times, but we expect high demand.

If you do have a strong interest in this model for your collection, kindly let me know so that I may follow up with you in the upcoming weeks. We are relatively confident that some level of deposit will be required to secure a timepiece.”
