Pam 024 Submersible - Bring back Panerai

Back in 2005, during my school days, saw my geography teacher wearing this huge-ass watch and went over to say that's a nice watch.
I asked him, how much does it cost, he asked me to guess and i said $500. LOL
i guess his heart died a little. So he gave me a small introduction to the world of watches, and that's how i started. Went home to google using my windows xp pc and found a ton of information. I guess 2005 was the rise of panerai.

First watch i ever got myself was a tag heuer aquaracer in 2009 before i was enlisted to the army, standard singaporean stuff. (panerai was super hyped and i couldn't afford one).

Did my share of national service, started working - fast forward to 2014, I saved up and got myself a Pam 005. Got alittle crazy and the rest is history (sold my 005 for a submariner 16610LN, shouldn't have done so but the allure of a rolex makes you do stupid things.)

Now, 2019, got myself another panerai and it's the same model my teacher was wearing back in 2005. 14 years in the making and no regrets getting in the game. Gotta thank him for paving the way and making me spend a ton of money
(forget to mention, i think he was wearing a 24C T-Dial back then with polished bezel)

here it is.

hey guys, thanks man.

but sadly, the rubber strap that came with the watch cracked. guess humidity here in Singapore is no good to such rubber if not stored properly

luckily i still have all my custom straps from the previous 005.

now there's someone locally selling a T Dial 024. lol tempting

Very nice and great story. I much prefer Panerai over Rolex.

I first looked up panerai’s after seeing sylvester stallone and jason statham wear in their movies..

I was happy to find out they had a 47mm model (my wrist is about 9 inches)

The PAM 024 is a great watch. I had to sell mine during residency to stay afloat and I regret it. I have since rebuilt my Panerai collection, but have yet to add this back into the fold. Photos do not do it justice. I love the "industrial" look to the piece in person.
