Vintage Rolex Precision identification plse

I inherited a watch and would like to know if it could be a genuine Rolex.
The face is very scratched and I don't think the strap is original. There are no id markings on the back and the winder doesn't have the Rolex crown. It came in a green Rolex box. Before looking into getting it restored I would like some advice.

Not very collectable, probably a 14kt case, but its not an oyster case which makes it less desirable. I'm guessing it has a 1210 movement in it. As long as its running any competent watchmaker can service it.

Not particularly valuable... the box adds some value or may have some minor value itself.

Quick look seems to be authentic from the early 50's.. Likely somebody replaced the crown with a cheaper generic piece.

It isn't a high value watch but certainly worth having it cleaned and repaired.. If you don't then who will..

Thanks for your advice. It's working perfectly so I will just get the glass replaced. Is there any special type of glass I should ask for in keeping with its age? Is there anywhere I should be looking for a serial number or other identification?

If you open up the caseback there should be a model number and the metal its made out of.

As for the crystal, an authentic rolex part is best, but may be tricky to find for this watch. An aftermarket acrylic should work, but since this is not an oyster case it shouldn't ever be subjected to water IMO. No need to risk flooding it
