Big Congrats on your new gorgeous timepiece!

To me, Rolex RG Day-Date with olive dial looks better than AP RO 15510ST.

Your next watch should be 15510OR with full bracelet.

I agree it’s a great looking watch but not insane walk-in. The Pepsi for instance would be an insane walk-in. Heck, any Sub, GMT purchase.

Enjoy the watch!

Congrats! I would keep the day date and add the stainless royal oak at a later date.

Thanks! I would definitely consider this specific model being sold to a tourist as an insane walk in personally. I've asked about this model at multiple local ADs in the past and they seem to get 1 or maybe 2 a year and it's never offered to you unless you're a super high spender. I have even had full gold bracelet rose gold Daytona and this same model with diamond bezel offered to me but never this model. Plus if you ever try to walk in in other countries there's almost never anything available to you. But to give credit to this AD they did say they try to deliver whatever watches to any client and I believe them, when I can't say I feel the same about most other ADs!

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I hope everyone finds their watch on a walk in as well! I had money set aside for the AP so I was able to purchase this on the spot even thought it was completely unplanned.

Would anyone consider trading in this day date for a oysterflex Daytona or trading in the Pepsi for the royal oak? I'm leaning no for both since I love this duo.

No, no, no. No way. But that´s just me, as I´ve never cared for the RO, or any other Genta-designed watches for that matter!

Ya I’d trade the Pepsi for a royal oak, no question about it.

Beautiful day date. Every time I see this configuration I think it’s the best. It’s a forever watch.

My one and only Rolex is a blro Pepsi jubilee I bought a few years ago from an AD (with no purchase history!) and even though a stainless Daytona would be nice I was more than happy since I think the blro is the best sports stainless piece Rolex makes.

This last week I was on vacation in Italy and met up with my Italian friend. We were in Florence for the day and decided to drop into one of the ADs for fun. They only had a YG day date silver roman and a few two tone DJs which I had no interest in. No big deal since most places tell you they have nothing, especially to tourists. We chatted for a while about watches, my Pepsi potentially being discontinued, and other life things. As I start to get up I thank the sales rep for this time. The sales rep then starts speaking Italian to his boss and my friend says hold on. He goes up stairs and comes down 15 min later with an olive day date rrose gold and says the guy who ordered it a year ago can't pick it up so he authorized it to sell to me if I want it. Now I have two rolexes and I think I'm done.

Would anyone change this two Rolex collection or did I get it right? I know how lucky and fortunate I am and even though my next target as a stainless royal oak there's something special about this day date. What do you guys think?
Congrats! That is the best experience possible while watch buying these days. But I doubt you're done :-) Sounds like you are just getting started my friends. Congrats again!

Somehow I knew this was coming…you have said that you are not interested in modern Rolex watches and maybe it’s safe to infer that you don’t try to purchase them. A Rolex DD RG olive dial is a great and unlikely offering to someone just walking in off the street, especially if the individual wants it. Maybe with demand cooling down a bit a watch at this price point could be in a bit less demand but it’s still a great offering. I think that offerings are different regionally based on what folks post on TRF.

Best to you!
