Not a fan of the new Santos, and I can only wear one watch at a time, so...

This thread piqued my interest in Cartier history. I found this article entitled "The Rise And Fall Of Fine Watchmaking At Cartier" to be interesting.

Such a cool piece, in a completely nonchalant way. Cartier has great designs.

FYI, here are some interesting comparison pics I found out there of the new Santos Blue vs. Nautilus/Aquanaut. Even side by side, I'll admit I'm really liking the Santos Blue a lot, definitely on my near-term hit list. Yes, the Pateks are way better. But if considering only looks/aesthetics/visuals... gotta say, that Santos sure is looking mighty fine.

Still enjoying mine and having fun with different straps. Picked up a burgundy from the boutique last Sunday. And I’m even considering the medium size in rose gold on the strap.

That burgundy looks really good. I made them give me the blue crocodile. The way the straps switch is amazingly cool.

6.75 The large size really doesn’t wear any bigger than a Rolex Submariner. And the case is curved so it sits great on your wrist. I’d read all the “it’s too big” comments on Hodinkee etc. but it isn’t. One thing though, there isn’t a 1.5 link so it’s possible the bracelet could be a little tight or a little loose.

Awesome good to hear. My wrist is also 6.75 and bloats up to 7 on humid days. Not concerned with it being too big.... I’ve got a 43mm Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe on right now and am considering a 47mm Panerai!

Like I said in my original post, you could buy 10 Cartier Santos for the price of 1 grey market priced 5711. Would you buy 10 Cartier Santos or 1 grey market 5711 wasn’t a question, ever. Does anybody miss Lapince?

It's always quality over quantity in watch collecting.

The blue Santos on a strap is smashing! If I get one the bracelet will stay in the box.

I tried the medium size rose gold on strap a couple days ago. Too small. But instead of ten watches maybe get one and ten different straps? Here’s the burgundy again.
