Patina...or trash?
So would this be considered patina or trash? Not mine, found it trolling eBay. I'm looking for a birth year watch.

I personally do not like that heavy patina, really.

Heavier but relatively even patina for sure. Most of the dial degradation appears to have occurred in the lacquer layers which are cellulose based. Could be a candidate for a clean-up as per this method.
Cheers Desmond

My opinion has always been that a watch with patina should mean something to you. For example, my grandfather's watch from 1960 has a great amount of patina but it doesn't bother me because it belonged to him. However, I wouldn't actively seek out anything like it if I didn't have a connection to it. I'd rather buy something in new(er) condition. But as always with WIS, if you like it then go for it.
