How do you do this?

Just wondering, how do you guys normally do this?

Say you have narrowed down your choice to one model and you are just comparing black and white dials.

So the black dial came, you tried it, you loved it. However, still haven't tried on the white dial yet.

But then the AD wouldn't normally hold the black dial until you have tried the White dial.

So lets say you let the black dial go, and wait for the white dial to try on.

The White dial arrived a few months later, you tried it on and you realise that you still love the black dial!

By then, the black dial is already long gone....

So you are back to waiting for the black dial again...

I have been in this situation many times, contemplating on the dials, and find myself constantly waiting for the next...

And for some references there are so many different dials....

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Go to gray dealer and try on everything all at once.

OP 39? Exp II? Flip a coin, if you don't like the result then it's obviously the other one.

Yes and no...

Let's say Batman and Pepsi, for a start, they are never in the AD, and there is no grey in the area, how would you have the opportunity to try them on?

And if you let go a Batman just to try on the Pepsi, it would take YEARS!

Though in this case, you can buy one first and always sell later with a profit if you like the other one better.

Just kind of a tricky dilemma.

This is a very difficult question and I am sure many forum members have the same question. If there is no gray dealer near you, then impossible to try on the piece. The best way is to find a re seller who has inventory that you can actually see and try on, otherwise you have to buy sight unseen, and I have done that after plenty of research looking at tons of photos.

I would take the one I can get. If in the future the other was offered and I like it better, sell the first one, make a little profit, take the new one, call it a day

If it was between a black and white dial Daytonas then its a no brainer to take which ever comes first , You could always flip it and get the other dial for free when it arrives with the profit of the first one

Go for the black dial if you wish you had taken it to begin with

Buy a brand that doesn't have an availability problem.

Seriously, though, I always tell myself that if I can't make a decision on whether or not to buy a given watch that I'm not ready to make a watch purchase.

When the time is right you will know and there will be no doubt.

If I don’t try a watch on my wrist I don’t buy it unless I’m buying to flip which is not me.

Just get the one you like the most. If you can't decide, you either like them both equally or don't know which one you like. If the former, buy the first one that comes along and buy the other one later on if you still want to. If the latter, don't buy either.

I ordered the white dial and that’s what came in first for me. I’m pretty sure if the black dial had come in first, I would have definitely bought it.

For most people it’s very difficult to see everything being made. Makes it hard to find a favorite. Patience, research and time visiting dealers. Talk to your local dealers. Sometimes they have something in back that they can show you to help with the decision.

I am flexible to a point considering the short supply. I wanted a TT SkyD either black or white, not champagne. AD had black, never saw a white, bought the black. Happiness followed.

If I am having trouble deciding and it is that close, I would take the first available dial color. My thinking is I could always sell one color for the other if the other one blows me away.

I am working TT SkyD and TT Daytona at the moment. I think the keyword is being "flexible", and I don't think you can go wrong with either colour/reference.
Thanks for sharing your experience! And congrats on TT SkyD Black, it's absolutely gorgeous!

Strange sometimes how black and white can be so close to each other, eh?
