Blue. It’s more mesmerising which no picture will ever truly capture, but to the eye it’s beautiful....like my DJ2

I've decided to go for the Rhodium...
Well I say that but I'll go to the dealer tomorrow and still ask to see the blue I'm sure! haha Thank you all for your help and hopefully I can post an incoming post tomorrow :) |

While the Rhodium dial is quite beautiful, it's not the most easily readable in sunlight, at least for me. Blue is equally attractive, and the hands are easily readable against a blue background.

They are both nice and the choice is very personal. You saw them both in person and liked the Rhodium better. Go with your first instinct. Stick with the Rhodium.

mmm it is a tricky one.
I think I read on here once that RSC will change dials? So if I do end up regretting a decision I make... one day in the future when I send it for service. I could get the dial changed colour right? |

My preference is blue. Go with whatever speaks to you though and the rhodium dial is still an attractive choice.
I have blue eyes and light skin, so the DJ41 with blue dial re-enforces and emphasises those features, according to my wife mind you. As pointed out earlier, the light reflects off the blue dial in a radial pattern and offers subtle colour changes depending on lighting, and viewing angle. That play of light just doesn't happen on the rhodium as far as I can tell. I find it one of the features of the watch that seals the deal for me. Contrasting colours such as white, black and Rhodium are a very masculine colours. We men tend to gravitate towards blacks and slates - in cars, clothes, computers, most everything. I can see why the contracting dials like white, black, and rhodium would work. |

Blue is a pretty popular color, I've seen it quite a few times. Thats why I would go with Rhodium. 1 I like it more, 2 its something thats just a bit diff IMO

Yeah I like that about the Rhodium the fact you could wear it with anything as its a neutral colour.
Not that I can really envision the blue really clashing that hard... I don't know, its still a bit of a toss of the coin of a choice at the moment haha. I want a blue watch in the future... so I think that is a good reason to go with Rhodium |

Doctor... do you find yours light though?
I look at your picture and I look at others and expect it to much deeper... darker blue. And it doesn't seem to be! |

I have the Rhodium. The color really grows on me, it’s quite eye-catching yet reserved at the same time; very difficult to describe. Mine has the Roman numerals so the color combination is probably what makes it more eye-catching.

I agree with your statement that the blue used on Datejust dials is underwhelming. At least that's the way my old eyes see it. The blue dials on the YM and Bluesy, in my opinion, are beautiful, but the blue used on the DJ is a bit bland when viewed in person. Obviously many others love the DJ blue.

I had the same exact reaction to the blue dial DJ41 when I finally saw it in person recently, even though it photographs beautifully (?). The blue seemed a bit pale to me. The rhodium on the other hand was very striking in comparison. The fluted bezel is the way to go with either imho. You might consider the silver dial which looked nice in person too. Good luck in your choice. Let us know. Cheers!

It looks fantastic in pictures and I was convinced it was the one for me until I saw it in real life and was a bit just "meh" by it... strange. I liked the Silver too... I'll have a good old look tomorrow armed with my cash... I tried to buy it today but my bank declined the transaction... fraud department fun stuff and has taken them 24 hours to resolve it... Made me look a bit of a fool but hey ho... protects from fraud so there's that! |

When you go to the AD ask for a hot beverage to calm the nerves. After your done with the beverage and chit chat ask them to bring both pieces out together. Whichever takes your attention and ofcourse your heart is your new piece of glory. Good luck.

The DJ41 is an excellent all-round watch. AND If you are going to get something blue later, Rhodium makes more sense imo. I have not worn my BLNR since I got the DJ41, as its just so comfortable, especially on the Jubilee. |

Hmm...let's see. So, you say you're going to get a blue watch next and you find the shade of blue on the DJ somewhat underwhelming? But, even underwhelmed with the blue, you're still torn between it and the rhodium. Well, if the blue is underwhelming, what does that make the rhodium?
So. Don't buy the DJ. Put that money with the money you're going to spend on your next watch and get this instead. Me personally, I would rather have a gold sub than 5 DJ's in every dial color and bracelet/bezel combination. Yeah, I don't wear this everyday, but man, I don't ever look at this watch and not be absolutely floored. Can't say that about the DJ's I've owned over the years. And to be fair, there is always some criticism of the bluesy from time to time being too loud, etc., but I don't believe I've ever read one single post saying that it's "underwhelming." |
