AP restricting distribution of the 15400, which has caused a larger backlog and more demand for the 5711

You're probably right - I think the WIS world has a tendency to prefer smaller watches, or at least at a minimum have more people who like small watches than the general public.

From the business development point of view, based on the current huge demand (at least in Asia), I don't think AP will discontinue 15400.

I’m happy with the 15400 layout and feel it’s still market relevant where as with the Nautilus I do feel they need to address the clasp design which they clearly agree with given the new design used on the PC I just hope this filters down. |

The clasp variation on the RO PC Ce is due to manufacturing constraints of the ceramic similar to the need for the bracelet pins in every link. |

Well, I have a number of watches larger than 41mm and they look great on wrist , but the 15400 wears much larger and just looks huge . I went to an AP AD wanting to buy a 15400 . He had one in stock , but said the watch looked too big on my wrist and dissuaded me from purchasing it. He also had a 37mm RO , which he said looked too small and admitted it was really a ladies watch , although it sells well to men in the Asian market . |

Most customers of AP are WIS or are very rich or famous, but then almost all the rich and famous are now on Social Media where WIS and WIS wannabes again are influential. It's a smaller world all the time. |

Depends on a country. South East Asia (Singapore, HK, Indonesia, Malaysia etc.) are def in that category - generally smaller males with generally super-sized watches, well at lest it had been that way until prob mid next year where I started to noticed more and more appropriately sized timepieces and less of those 47+mm monstrosities, although it is far from over.
Japan, on the other hand, has always been right up there with the refined taste and very discerning buyers so i'd hardly ever see another over 40mm there, especially in the premium category. I haven't been to China enough to even generalise - I feel they buy pretty much anything there, all shapes all sizes all brands. Just an gigantic market, that is. |

I think it us WIS on the forums and North America that prefer a smaller watch. In no way is the market as a whole supports that theory. I just returned from Asia and frankly everything is big or to us over-sized. It's like the bigger, the better philosophy. When you have Patek/Rolex/IWC exclusive dealers (not just boutiques) across the street from each other and then down street there is another and again in the mall behind that is another for a market like Hong Kong I say the North American demand, wants and/or opinions are a bit ignored.
Everywhere I walk I see tons large watches from AP, Rolex Deep Seas, Big Pilots, Hublots, etc. Pre-owned or independent watch stores stock nothing but large watches it's a pretty good indication of what the market wants... I didn't even see 1 - 15400ST available as each store says they sell out as soon as it hits the display case. |

Odd considering there was a new 41mm RO model at Le Brassus last month ready for SIHH 19

Highly doubt you’ll find any info as it’s most likely a new SIHH19 release.
Not willing to go any further then that as I was only privy to it while on a factory tour, and what happens on tour stays on tour |

My comment was in regards to the posts #45 & #46 find it odd if AP are to replace the 41mm RO design if they are still producing more variants of the current model |

I was told that the reference number 15400 will be replaced by a new reference number (i know it but i am not sure if i can say it). Also the design will slightly change but they are not stopping the 41 mm case.
