Datejust 16234 vs Datejust 116234

Aesthetically, which one do you like the most? Why?

6 digit , solid end links , hidden clasp , rehaut , ar cyclops , more substantial on the wrist without losing the 36mm Dj spirit :)

Had both.....flipped the 116234

The blinged out lugs collected hairline scratches from my shirt cuff and also i found the concealed clasp quite feminine

6 Digit for sure.

The overall improvements leave the 5 digit looking like a relic from the past.

I have the 6 digit but always thought the 5 digit dial (markers without lume) looked better.

Agree.

However, improvements to clasp, power reserve etc makes the 6 digit the one for me.

The brushed lugs make this DateJust less flashy, it is the OG Rolex IMO. 16234 all the way

I am normally a 6-digit guy, but for the DJ, I much prefer the aesthetics of the thinner and brushed lugs of the 5-digit DJ. Just fits the model better, IMHO.

5 digit. Brushed lugs. I think the new polished models have ruined the greatest wristwatch of all time.

6-digit: lumed sticks, hidden clasp, engraved rehaut, AR cyclops, heavier more luxurious feeling watch for me. When I tried it on, my choice was pretty much made for me on the spot. That, and that the 5-digit used jubilee bracelets tend to be really stretched.

All modern Rolex watches are way better than previous generations. Cosmetic (more polished areas vs brushed) or aesthetic changes (larger lugs), are subjective yet none take away from the dna of the models.

Same here. But the 2018 ref. 126xxx seems to have slightly slimmer lugs now. If they were to brush the lug surfaces it would be divine!

16234 is aesthetically superior
I appreciate its construction more also because it retains its classic dress look instead of becoming a rugged sports watch

I agree for professional/sports but the DJ36 is quite small on the wrist. The extra 6-digit beef makes up for that.

Small on the wrist? It will be on your wrist . Please, do not generalize

I see it perfect on my wrist
