The Hulk could be preferable, but i would go with the 216570. I feel you have more options on wears with the ExpII but the green the Hulk could determine that and can have limited options

Both are lovely, but I'd say the LVc would compliment your BLNR better as far as building your collection goes. The LVc is just a gorgeous watch with a magical emerald dial that goes from black to brilliant green. Will hold it's value better too. Good luck. Cheers!

This is what I hate/love about this forum. Now I am considering trading in the BLNR and jet getting a smurf.

Got a great deal on a Hulk from a dealer on this forum, so happy to say that I have HULK INCOMING.
Will look into adding the smurf next year as I was too undecided about losing my favorite function (GMT) in favor of a precious metal watch. Thanks for your help! |

5 digit polar is the one I'd take. I love mine and for current prices think its a steal. I don't like the new hand and bezel font of the 6 digit.

I really like the polar dial Explorer II’s. If it were me, I’d go w/ the 40 mm. But obviously, being that you like the 42 (and bigger watches in general), I’d get the newer model. Plus, that orange hand is RAD.

How about vintage? A white dialed 16628 yellow gold yacht master looks nice.

I decided on a Hulk (for now) as I got a great deal, but I still feel the polar (red or orange) is in my future as I NEED a white faced GMT!! Thanks!

The Explorer in all variants is such a unique, eye catching reference. I had both 16570 and 216570 and shouldn't have let either go. I used to catch myself staring at them for their amazing appearance and the clarity of the information. And hey, if it's good enough for a legend like Ed Viesturs it's good enough me.

I would buy a Hulk, because I think that everybody needs a SUB and I think that likely the Kermit, the Hulk will increase the price in a few years...

216570 is cooler but i like the hulk aswell

I agree with the above poster that the Polar for me was always a fallback. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice watch. I had a 116610LN, but it was so similar to my BLNR in looks that I wanted something different. Price wasn't an issue for me either and I was NOT on the LVc train whatsoever. I stopped into my AD to try on the Polar II before making my decision, and he just so happened to be wearing a Hulk so I tried them both on at the same time. Both felt great. I already had the SubC and the BLNR so I knew the wide lugs fit more like a 42 than a 40, and the 42mm ExpII felt nice also, but at the end of the day, it felt like a big step backwards to get the ExpII. This had nothing to do with it, but it's nice knowing I won't have an issue selling my LVc if I feel the need either. I really, really love the look and feel of the Hulk. It's a beast, I can blend it in if I need to, and I can make it pop if I want to.

Plus, it looks a lot like the Kermit when not in bright light. My wife thought it had a black dial until I turned the lights brighter. I think I read you also had the Kermit at one time...
