Take it off. The amount of good you think it’s going to do you is negligible and it’s going to harbor a disgusting amount of bacteria.

Yeah, i agree.
It shows the only remaining part of its known history.

Besides, what's the harm in leaving it on?
It doesn't affect anything except maybe the future resale value.
If in doubt, leave well alone.
All of my Rolex watches were on sold with their original green sticker on the back.

What bacteria exactly?
Any more than one already has on their body?

It's nothing that a weekly wash in warm dish soap can't take care of anyway.
I'll bet your house, car, etc is absolutely spotless.
You could probably perform surgery under the bonnet of your car without risk of infection

Maybe not to you.

But to others, perhaps it might make some difference

I sort of like it as a remnant... my watches dont get very nasty and the bacteria mess does not seem to be an issue. Not that big of amdeal one way or another.

Really? well if you wash your watch in warm water with dish soap on a regular basis (which you really should do) that little green case back sticker eventually surrenders to the soap and water and there will be no choice but to scrape it off. Been there and done that many times over the years.

Leave it on. The old green stickers like the one on your 16610 stay on for years. Very different than the stickers they put on the new references. It will eventually come off after many years of wear.

Correct. My sticker on my old DJ. Lasted 15 years.
And what's this issue with bacteria? Are you licking the watch?
Unless you have open wounds, simple soap and water will keep it clean.
Always wash your hands, dont touch your eyes and stick your fingers in your mouth, and you'll be ok.
I haven't been sick more than once in 8 years, and I'm pretty sure that was airline related.

I remove the case back sticker, because wear all my watches.

14 year old 116520..... bought and sticker removed.....

16710 bought in August, minty and straight to the wrist after case back sticker removed....

As I removed them I thought about how some collectors keep them on and I observed the flawless caseback, but- then I wore the watch (sticker less) and immediately it felt it was now MY watch.

Agreed. To me, it isn’t worth the 20 minutes it would take to remove the green sticker. Besides, no one even sees it. Not sure why so many are so anti sticker. I took ownership of my 126660 JC this afternoon. I chose to take the stickers off. But some people like to leave them on to protect the watch a few more days/weeks. What’s wrong with that!?!?People get so ostracized if they take a picture with the stickers still on their watch. I say, if you want to leave the stickers on, then leave them be. It’s your watch to do what you want.

Good luck removing it. I had several over the years and they were never easy to remove. I think I ended up using nail polish remover to eat away the darn thing. Would not even attempt to remove one now. Why expose the watch to chemicals or heavy rubbing/abrasion.

I had mine on for 15yr for that very reason, it was hard to remove. The model # eventually rubbed away anyway.

I'm glad none of my Rolex watches came with stickers.

I never had to face this dilemma, thank the Lord.

My AD has taken care of this for me.

It should have been taken off and placed, intact, on the face of the guarantee papers for a complete set..

Now it's little more than a green smudge on the back...sad.

I always get them off ASAP. The watch feels better on the wrist without them imho

A little bit of Goo Gone would do the trick, easy peasy, with no harm to the watch.

Mine stayed on for years with regular(once a week) bathing.
The only sign of degredation was some wear on the surface from arm hair also wear and tear and wrinkling around the perimiter

However if it has been worn and used already, it makes no difference if the green sticker is there or not IMHO. If you're going to stick it in a safe then just leave as is

BUT if you are going to wear it.... REMOVE the sticker because that is just gross! bacteria! grime! sticky residue! just icky!
Hmmm, you could be right but if your Rolex is 904L that sticker could prevent a nasty nickel allergy.

Ps. You won’t get as much grime from a green sticker as you will from between bracelet links.

Kinda like picking up my dog’s poop with my bare hands. “It’ll be fine as long as you wash your hands, make sure you don’t have any open wounds, don’t touch your eyes, your mouth, ears, food, your child or any of your child’s possessions and you’ll be fine. Also, don’t stare or provoke it.”

I'm leaving the price tags on my new underpants, just in case it ads value in the future.

People leave plastic stickers on Rolex watches for YEARS ??
Even ones they wear ?!
Ok I understand we are all different and everything is subjective opinion but to me that is utterly weird unless you are buying them to keep hidden in a safe in the hope they will be collectors' items in the future.

Outlier.
I like the heavy duty green caseback sticker.
It does a great job of protecting the case back from the clasp.

As far as value, some potential buyers view stickers being on the watch as an indication of some level of newness maintained. If between 2 watches of equal condition and one has stickers, why would anyone choose the one without stickers.

As far as germs etc, that’s a non issue the watch gets washed daily.
