DateJust 41 - Blue or Rhodium

Hello all.

Long time lurker... but I am due to purchase a Rolex tomorrow. I tried on some today and I was a huge fan of the Datejust 41...

But I am torn between Blue and Rhodium. I will be getting it with a fluted bezel and jubilee.

I really loved the blue in pictures... but in real life it seems paler... almost a muted blue than the deep blue that the pictures show it as.

Anyone else find that?

Either-way I saw the Rhodium and thought it looked very nice in the flesh.... but here I am at home, pondering what to do and the blue keeps haunting me! haha

I don't think you can go wrong really... but has anyone else felt a bit underwhelmed by the blue in real life?

Thank you all :)

I say go with the one that you like the most in "real life."

I personally loved the white dial, and the silver dial in pictures, but when I saw them in person I preferred the Rhodium dial

I like the blue better. Wish they still made it with Roman numerals like with 116234 came with.

I think the blue and rhodium are the two "hot" dial colors for the DJ41. I went rhodium because I had recently purchased a blue dial IWC Pilot Chronograph. I also felt the rhodium was more dressy and the DJ41 is my "dressiest" watch. That said, I understand why people go blue on this model. Rolex makes amazing blue dials. Honestly, the best thing about the Datejust is that it looks good in almost any combination. You kind of can't screw this up.

Not sure if the DateJust blue and the Yacht Master blues are the same, but my Yacht Master blue is stunning in all lighting.

I am a blue fan,but really like the rhodium with fluted WG bezel and Jubilee.

The dial you are likely not to get tired of is always black ,IMO.

I have a DD 40 with a Dark Rhodium Stripe dial.
It's Stunning !
Beautiful color shade, Rhodium is also quite neutral (like black & white dials).
For me it would be an easy choice 😈

Well I think my next watch in a year or so's time will be the Submariner two tone blue/gold. So I think I may go for Rhodium...

It's such a hard choice as there is no wrong answer... They all look good... but I was just a bit underwhelmed by the blue. It seems so deep in pictures but it seemed quite muted... pale in person.
Maybe it was the lighting. I'm tempted to ask him if I can take it outside. But I don't he'll let me its a very rough area that this shop is located within haha.

I have the blue. It’s a great watch. Very versatile. But — there’s no wrong answer between those two

Blue all day long, the dial changes colour wonderfully.

Then again I am a little biased...

I’ve been looking for a blue fluted bezel for a while now with no luck! Buy the watch that makes you feel overwhelmed

I feel the rhodium is the color that best complements the more modern style of the DJ41.

Blue Datejust was my first Rolex purchase and my love of that dial has never changed. The blue they use is just stunning and you'll never tire of it. Rhodium is very nice too but I think you have grow bored of it after a while...

Sorry but blue DJ look dull compare to rhodium dial. My friend called me and asking the same question blue or rhodium for DJ41, he was set on the blue dial base on the pictures provided online. Until he get to the AD and he said “blue look dull compare to the vibrant of the rhodium dial”. I agree and he bought the rhodium dial smooth bezel on oyster bracelet. I must admit it look very classy in person.

Can't go wrong with any colour on the DJ41 in my opinion.
I bought my Rhodium last week. Didn't want the blue as I already have a BLNR as my sportier choice.....which obviously has some blue on it.
