Flipping 5 digit Sub for DJ41 - Opinions please

My current 3 piece Rolex collection primary consist of different version of the submariner(16610, 16610LV, 116610). After getting my first modern Rolex, SubC(116610) and experiencing how great the bracelets on these modern watches, I’ve been thinking of flipping my regular 5 digit(16610) Sub for a DJ 41(Black Dial, Smooth bezel and Jubilee bracelet) for a dressier daily watch. What do you guys think, keep the sub or flipped it.

Sure. Why not. You have the LV.

Now had you said flip the LV it would change to a NO!

Sounds like a plan.

I’d have a hard time deciding between the smooth and fluted.

Sure, unless you hate to breakup the Sub collection. Consider a Milgauss or OP too.

I'd usually say no, but since you have an LV I'd do it. Get some diversity in the collection.

Agree with these gentlemen

I do like the sub/DJ41 combo myself

Thanks for the input gents. Made a call to 3 of my local AD and they are also out of stock on their SS datejust. Who knew SS datejust are also in short supply. Might have to wait till next year then.

Here’s my sub collection:

Can't have too many subs but if you want another look, a DJ41 is a great option. I wouldn't rule out a milgauss or AK though unless you're mind is definitely made up.

flip the 116610 as you can easily replace.

Definitely flip the 16610.
Get a different dial color other than black though.
Blue looks pretty cool

I'd do it too. Yes even the DJ41 has little stock at ADs, but they are made in higher numbers so it should not be too long.

Nope. I flipped a sub c for a DJII. In less than 6 months I reversed that decision. DJ did not last.

I'm assuming by flip, you mean sell on the sub and then use the cash for the DJ, in which case I'd say go for it due to the other's in your collection.

If you are intending to trade in against the DJ I'd suggest the above, then you can check out the stock in other areas as opposed to just AD's, possibly getting a discount on the DJ new price in to the bargain.

There's some redundancy to your collection, so it makes sense to flip one. But, I don't think that I'd do it for a DJ.

♛- Yet to be determined, but a white 16520 is on the short list. (I believe that I'll be able to read it better than my old 116520)

While doing some Christmas shopping, my AD said they now have a wait list for SS DJs. I guess it makes sense this would happen, but still surprised me.

I wouldn’t for a DJ, if you want a dressier piece maybe an OP and keep the Sub or flip de the Sub for a YM, atleast it’s dressier than the sub...

The DJ41 is a great piece, fit and feel is super and the combo your choosing is a beauty as well.
