Never seen anything like this but if authentic, a stunning find. Big congrats.
Can you give us a few more pics of the back and crown? |

So what is the history of Mickey Mouse and Omega? Did this come from the factory like this? I can't seem to find a whole lot of info when I do searches.

I do not think anyone here doubts it is an authentic Seamaster.
What is in question is the authenticity of the Mickey Mouse on the dial. I believe what some of the TRF members are alluding to, is that most Omega representatives are not familiar with vintage watches and would not be considered authorities on their authenticity. I was going back and forth on whether I thought this was authentic or not. Here are my observations. 1. The case has been polished and satin finish applied. So, this is not NOS. If you look on the back of the case you will see some pitting. 2. The dial is not signed WDP. I have sold antique toys as well as watches for the past 30 years. And I got to thinking. Disney always signs any authorized product. From this era it should have been signed Walt Disney Products, or initialized WDP on the dial. Therefore I do not think that Mickey is original to the dial. Whether it was applied last year or 40 years ago, would be difficult to say. |

I have seen the same Mickey Mouse printed on aftermarket Rolex dials, hence my comment. |

Yes, i agree about the representatives being no experts. That's why we are here :) The case was polished by my self, the brushed satin was redone, and the the sides where polished to remove hairlines. About the dial. Have you seen the one sold by Robert Marron ? I will attach a picture. Thank you ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did see the Robert Marron watch.
It still bugs me that it is not signed Disney. The company is very protective of there copyrights. There are 2 comparables it reminds me of. 1. Tiffany signed watches. Which were very popular in the 80's and 90's. So, everyone started printing Tiffany on their Rolexes. Dial was original but the Tiffany was not. 2. Dominoes Pizza Air Kings. Does anyone know for sure if these came from the factory that way? I think it would be a lot more likely that they bought a bunch of Air Kings and had the logo applied by an outside company. Does this make the watch un-original? Does it make the watch more or less valuable, depending on which way it was produced? So, is it possible this was not Disney authorized, but some seller had it applied on the dial back in 1974 or, whatever year it was produced? If so, is the watch more or less valuable? I think those are the relevant questions. Other than an Omega order form, recording that this was a special order with MM on the dial, I think it would be difficult to convince most people that it was authentic. I just did a google search of your reference number. It bugged me how close, the "SWISS" was to the hour marker. All the references 166.0190 had "SWISS MADE" on the dial and was positioned lower. Not the "SWISS" that is on your dial. If I was a betting man, I would say fake. But their are always exceptions. And mine is an opinion that you can choose to accept or not. |

The lack of second markers is troublesome as well. All other examples I have seen have them.

So what is the consensus in general on these types of Mickey Mouse watches?
Where these dials created by Disney, Omega, or a type of "fan art"? OP - I think the watch is cool no matter what. I know I'd be stoked to find one! |
