1966 GMT - Questions about the Dial and Bezel
Wow.. love this forum. I need some expert advice please.
I purchase my GMT about 10 years ago while in NY. I was looking for a vintage Rolex and happened to find a 1675, #1980xxxx. Fell in love with it because it's a 1966 (same year I was born.) I'd like to know if my dial and bezel are original. The white on my dial is pretty white and certainly doesn't match the worn luminus hands. For the past few years I've suspected the dial had been relplaced, however, I've noticed on ebay (and photos in various forums) that some vintage gmt's have the "matte finished dial that looks very similar. Could the dial be original and the hands replaced?? Also, my bezel is not the classic "Pepsi" color... the red has a distinct pinkish-purplish tint to it and it's unlike any other color I've seen on similar watches. The color has always been the same.. it hasn't faded or changed since I've owned it. Anyway, just trying to figure out what I have here.. if the parts have been replace, I'd like to restore it back to it's original condition. Any idea what my watch might be worth in it's present condition? Many thanks. -Skipp Here's a link to photos. #7206 Bracelet not pictured. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-4/1337971/0 Skipp |
