Never thought I would say no…..

Last year when I turned 49 I decided that I wanted a no date Submariner for my 50th birthday. I was new to luxury watches. So I started making the rounds and quickly realized you can no longer just go in and buy one. One retailer just didn’t click with me. I got on their list but decided I probably would not do business with them.

So I found a smaller retailer and the sales associate was great. I told her I had a year to wait, but I would be buying a watch on my birthday. She took all my details and the wait started. I stopped in several times to talk and build a nice relationship. She called me a month before my birthday to offer me a Tudor Pelagos, my second choice. I passed on it.

My 50th came and no call, so I purchased an Omega Planet Ocean. It is great and I have no regrets.

Four more months go by and out of the blue she calls me to let me know they have the Submariner for me. I never thought I would say no to a watch at retail.

I thanked her but said I had bought another watch.

I did have her change my my wish list for my retirement present to a two tone SeaSweller 43. I have 4 years to wait on that one. Until then I will enjoy the Omega.
