Day Date

How prevalent were the Day-Dates fitted with a Jubilee bracelet?

They werent. The Jubilee was used on the solid gold cased Date Just. Im surprised that it fit on the Day Date case since the Day Date case was much thicker than a Date Just case. Unless someone swapped out the end links but then the thicker end links would look funny on the Jubilee. Post pics if you have them OP and im sure something will look out of place.

Thank you for the response. I saw one on a retailer’s website and had never seen a Day-Date set up with a Jubilee.

Matt, is this among the type of end link-to-case fitment issues you mean? This is with a Pesident, not a Jubilee, but this is listed as a 18238 case, and I’m guessing perhaps these are 53 end links?

A 53 end link would be for an 1803 case, a 55 end link would be for an 18038/18238 case. A 53 end link on a 5-digit is going to fit about as good as the jubilee from the date just. The jubilee bracelet would probably fit better on an 1803 since the case is less thick. Still wouldnt look right though.
Keep in mind that there is a 53 jubilee end link which is not to be confused with a president 53 end link.

Jubilee on a 1601 solid gold. Its the fitment in the corners that you want to look for.

I would want to see where the end link meets the case, that will tell you right away if it was meant for the taller day/date case. If the corner points of the end link sits lower than the top of the lug edge then it was not correct for that watch head. Please post pics

Pretty sure a jubilee was offered on Day Dates in the 50’s and 60’s from factory.

53 end links are slim and will fit 1803 perfectly

55 end links are thick and will fit 18038 case perfectly (because case is approximately .5mm thicker than 1803 and 18238)

55B end links are for 18238 and thicker than 53 but thinner than 55 as the 18238 case is thinner.

Mixing and matching these can result in uneven case fittings.

I believe the small rolex logo on the bracelet is in keeping from the 70's

Well said, and IMHO mismatching case and bracelets can cause the rub marks we sometimes see on the Ref# and Serial# between the lugs. Chris
