Thank you. Went back and forth on which IWC to add to the collection. The new pilot chrono, spitfire models, ceramic models, and of course have always wanted the 46mm Big Pilot. Was very close to the Big Pilot and tried to justify that I could pull off the size…but after spending a lot of time with it, it’s just tough as a casual daily wearer which was what I was looking for.

Would have loved the manual wind and power reserve from the original (don’t miss the date) but I’m happy with the trade offs!

I haven’t seen the 43 in person yet, but I felt exactly the same way when I tried on the blue pilot chrono - it just didn’t seem right on a pilot watch for some reason. For me, IWC Pilots need black dials. (Just my preference.)

That 43 looks perfect on your wrist. I also wanted a 46 Big Pilot for a long time but I could never pull it off with my 6.75” wrist. I know it’s just a matter of time before I lose my resolve and buy a 43. Enjoy yours!
