Very nice job with the strap! Would you mind sharing what type of dye you used? I’d be interested in doing the same with my tan strap.

Thanks.

Sure. I went with "Medium Brown" and it worked well, but applying multiple coats to get proper coverage made it darker than I would have liked. You may want to go with a lighter brown. It may still end up dark like mine, but if I did it again, I would choose a lighter dye. Maybe light brown or even tan.

Hi…I just picked up a new Santos earlier today. I have had my eye on this for quite awhile and once I finally went to the boutique to try it on, I was hooked. It’s a great addition to my collection as I don’t have anything quite like this one.

I have one immediate question. Is there supposed to be any sort of manual and warranty card? I purchased from an actual Cartier boutique, but there was nothing in the box in terms of a warranty card/manual/paperwork. I sent a note to the SA but I am guessing they may not reply until next week. I’d appreciate hearing from all of you fellow Santos owners!

Thanks much.

Congrats.

There should be two small booklets under the pillow section of the box. They aren't really anything significant.

Apparently they sometimes don't give the warranty card these days because they register what watch online for the extension.

I had to specifically ask for the warranty card. They sent it but it was annoying that I had to ask for it.

Also bought mine from a Cartier boutique.

Thank you! There is nothing in there. I’ve checked 5 times because I keep thinking they couldn’t have forgotten to include those. LOL.

I will ask for a warranty card. I want one for sure…I’m just that type that wants everything totally “complete” and legit.

You mentioned two small booklets…What are those? Is one the warranty card?

Mine came with the following :

Two white booklets (instructions and Cartier care)
Strap
Deployant
Tool

The red warranty card was not included when I bought the watch. I had to ask them to send it to me.

No problem.

Enjoy it. I've worn it every day since getting mine. It's a great watch

I just bought a Tank Américaine in SS from the Hudson Yards boutique and all I had was a card under the black container. I didn’t receive a booklet. My friend’s wife bought a small Santos Dumont two tone the same day I bought my Tank and hers didn’t come with anything.

I bought mine from the 5th avenue location.

It seems like the experience varies significantly. I wasn't able to register on the site to extend my warranty so I called Cartier and they asked for a copy of the invoice and a copy of the warranty card. When I told them I didn't get a warranty card, I was told I should definitely have gotten one.

That's why I requested it from the boutique.

The Hudson Yards boutique automatically registered my watch and my friend’s wife’s watch for us the next day after we purchased.

Yeah. I think that's standard procedure but the online registration seemed to be broken. I wasn't able to do it for about a week.

Just picked this up from the E-boutique. It's my first Cartier and first square cased watch. I wanted to try something different and my local AD didn't have it in stock. It's so comfortable on rubber and the bracelet is really cool, I just can't get it sized right. Either too tight or too loose. Wish it had a micro adjust.

I really enjoy it, it's just not my usual style which I think has me thinking how it will age. It's the most "me" Cartier and I am into the history and roots of the brand. Currently rotate a SeaDweller 4k and a Glashutte Original SeaQ.

What do you think?

Your watch looks great. I love my Santos. Contact Cartier if you are in the US 1(800) Cartier. I had heard that there was possibly a half link available for the new Santos. I am not sure if that is accurate, but someone on another forum and living in Europe said their sales person was ordering it for them. I didn't see a follow up post so I can't confirm its existence, and I forgot about it until you mentioned a sizing issue. If you are successful with getting a half link, please let us know.

Finally!!!!

Bought my Santos about 1yr ago from Cartier store in SF. I don't regret purchasing at the store instead of AD as it has been talked about.
The experience was absolutely phenomenal and follow up has been fantastic. Was able to receive complimentary blue alligator strap and included tan strap and of course it comes with steel bracelet. Well I just got my black rubber strap from my SF Cartier store and I absolutely love it!

Wow looks great on the rubber! You hit the trifecta of steel, rubber, and leather bracelets.

Any insight into how you got the Cartier store to comp the blue alligator strap? I’m looking to get the medium and want a black leather strap.

Thanks! Well I happen to know the sales associate from her time at Mont Blanc. So I'm sure that helped. Anyway...they didn't discount (of course) so I asked if I could get a free strap. She asked the mgr and next thing I know she brought out the strap swatches.

They go for about $600-700.

I bought my watch at a Cartier boutique and there was no discount, but the manager approved a free alligator strap, when I requested one. The alligator strap is really nice, but they are not $600-700. Last I checked they were about $350 to $425. The rubber strap is actually more expensive at approximately $562.00. Still, it's nice to get an additional free strap with your watch. Congrats and enjoy it.

My blue dial Santos on its rubber strap.

If you paid $300 for your rubber strap, either they reduced the price recently, or they made a mistake. My sales associate at my local Cartier boutique quoted $562 for the rubber strap, and that's what it rang up as on the computer when I went in to pay for it. In addition, another friend of mine purchased the same blue dial Santos I did, he liked my rubber strap and ordered one...same price when he bought his in July of 2021.

So you did very well if you only paid $307 for the rubber strap.

I believe you guys. I also know what I paid (apparently too much), and a few others from another forum paid.
