Incoming Grönefeld Principia

Had liked this watch for many years and finally pulled the trigged some months ago. Received it today. Very happy with it: great size, lovely salmon dial, steel, beautiful movement. Only the crown sticks out a bit too much for my taste. Fairly expensive for a time only watch, but given the finishing and small production numbers, worth it imo.

How can you post a Gronefeld without a pic of the back!

Super nice watch. Congratulations. I do agree with you on the crown, but a minor point for sure.

Wonderful Piece. I am surprised you were not tempted by their 1941 Remontoire series...

Great watch. I agree with you about the crown but it's easily overlooked considering the rest of the watch, especially the movement. Congratulations!

Work of art and truly a unique piece. I love the lug design and the attention to detail on the hands/indices/case. I personally think they are tremendous value given the current market prices.

You likely won't run into anyone else with the same piece given that they maybe make 50-70 watches a year.

Wear it in the best of health and happiness!

I am tempted by the Remontoire, but as it says SOLD OUT on their website, I didn’t think it was a possibility…

Do they still make them?

I understand at Grönefeld the wait is about 2 years. But I was lucky, got it within 3 months through a friend of a friend who somehow gets them faster.

Lug design is indeed particularly nice.

Value vs current market prices is very dependent on the comparison in my opinion. Yes vs 5711 or 15202. But 98% of watches trade below retail and some complicated watches are very cheap, also compared to Grönefeld. Lange double split, Breguet tourbillons…

Tried to order a 1941 Remontoire over a year ago but missed out. Waiting for the new model to be released later this year

I have also considered the Principia but am indifferent to an automatic movement.

Hi Guys, I ve been thinking to place an order. In fact have been thinking for a while. I realised the lug to lug is 46.9mm. I m just afraid my 6.00 wrist is right on the edge. I don't like lugs hanging out from the wrist. Sadly it is hard where I am to locate one to try on. Any feedback/ view is highly appreciated.
