Interesting DJ41...

Just got a NIB one with a 2021 dated card (new style) but has the MK1 dial... Guess those are still floating around out there...

Are you sure it’s a DJ41 and not the DJ II then? Maybe post a Picture? What’s the model number on the card?

I recently ran across mk1 Explorer II w/new green card. I think it might have more to do with AD date of purchase versus age/reference.

See, you learn something new everyday.

I have a DJ41 with the Mk1 dial (it's a 2018).

When did they switch to the Mk2?

This is why I joined this forum, for info I'd never learn otherwise!

Thats really weird - It is very much likely your AD switched the dial probably on a more fast moving DJ like one with a fluted bezel.
Imagine the watch you bought, when received from Rolex by the AD came originally with a Wimbledon dial or a blue stick dial. The AD might have swapped that dial and put in an old Mk1 dial in this watch. This way the warranty card remains new but the dial is old.

You might call me crazy but this can definitely happen. When I swapped my DJ41's dial from black stick to Wimbledon it came back with the new Mk2 dial whereas the old black stick dial was Mk1. They kept the black dial to themselves, I could've bought it back for 1900 AED btw but I passed.

Best thing would be to ask your AD about it

I have MK1 on March 2020 with blue sticks from AD, but Mk1 change to Mk2 on January 2019
