Cheap tourbillon any good

I got an add for Legacy watch company’s Tourbillon and decided to check it out.

Here is the link:
https://www.legacywatchcorporation.com/

From the photos I like the watch, but the marketing really turns me off. Every brand associates themselves with a particular image, but these guys go over the top. It sounds like a sales pitch for some scammy product or get rich quick scheme. That being said, if anyone had any familiarity with these watches, and gave a good review I figured I might be able to look beyond the questionable marketing materials.

I have been considering the Seagull tourbillon for a while, which I can’t find reviews on.

Even if you aren’t familiar with the brand, you might get a kick out of how thickly they lay it on. They pretty much imply that wearing a tourbillon will instantly make you more successful, richer, more likable, and more attractive.

You aren’t kidding. The first line on their page says it all - “If they think you’re wearing a $100k watch, why correct them?”

Their sales process is a bit weird. They sell you the watch for a total of $1997 but include an appraisal showing the value as more than $11,000. My guess is it’s a watch worth a couple hundred dollars and they’re using the “buy now or you’ll miss out” angle to get people to overpay. I still don’t know how they can get away with that appraisal though.

There was a thread not long ago about these cheap tourbillons. Chinese made, keep horrible time, probably not reliable long term.

This all seems very questionable to me.

So there is no german component in the manufacturing process?

It’s Glashutte in PROC and not Glashütte I/SA?

Look at the engraving on the back. Even a $200 watch has better finishing.

It's not even centred properly, and look at the T in stainless, was it done free hand?

I suspect this retailer doesn't have the money to actually make an order, so the $197 initial payment covers the watch (and probably the manufacturer's profit), the rest is just free money for them if anyone falls for that awful advert.

I saw this ad as well. The only reason I clicked on it was because they use the name Glashutte. This is misleading.

What gets me is if you are in a room with 5 other gents who know what a tourbillion is, they will immediately recognize this is for what it is: junk.
