One day, every day...

What is everyone’s vintage daily wearer? I wouldn’t dare call it a ‘beater’, because they are much too precious and dignified for that lowly monicker...

As for me, it’s my old favorite...1601 two tone Datejust...iconic, goes well with any attire, and is simple yet classic. And I’m damn glad it cannot talk!!!

All of my watches modern and vintage are daily wearer. And this one is my top rotation piece. :)

One day, every day...

I wear all my watches daily, both vintage and modern.

As far as vintage; today, I wore a funky $45 Seiko 6106-5467 from 1973 all original. Earlier in the week I wore my grandfather's 5513. Tomorrow maybe I'll wear my Seiko "Pogue."

Hard to pinpoint a vintage beater in my rotation. I love them all!

Here was today’s. Scratched crystal and all! New one on the way.

My R serial 1016 sees my wrist everyday regardless of what I'm doing or what the weather is.

Don't wear vintage watches daily....

But do on a regular basis. Most of my vintage watches are Omega and Hamilton. This is my oldest Rolex - was wearing it today. A 1964 Oyster Perpetual.

I wear vintage watches every day, and not all are beaters. But here are a few watches that I can recall buying specifically as beaters. I enjoy watches that are attractive with honest wear and tear, as long as they retain their vintage authenticity. The Frey supercompressor is undoubtedly the "worst" watch I own, but there is something about it that I love, even though it's obviously too large for my wrist.

Dis someone say “Pogue”?
Great watch with interesting history. Been wearing mine a lot lately...gets a lot of stares out in public due to its truly unique look with gold dial and Pepsi bezel.

Thank you! But don't get one. It's dangerous.

Once you get one, you'll want them all. I have four "Pogues" and still need a few more to complete the set. Then it branched into the "Bullheads," then the "UFO's" and then the "Helmets."

Now I need a dedicated watch box for them! They are aesthetically awesome watches, amazing case lines, solid movements, and great history. They wear like a tank but very comfortable.

I really enjoy the vintage Seiko market and I can get a great assortment for the price of one vintage Rolex. Even the old "beaters" like the one I posted above are a hoot. Total 60's / 70's vibe.

And any one of them can be worn daily. That's what they were intended for!!

One day I'll create a thread in the Seiko section.

Search and ye shall find. They've been around for quite a while. If you get one have your watch pressure tested.
