JC DSD Box

Question on box for James Cameron deep sea dweller. Is it suppose to be bigger then the standard rolex box? Also the book doesnt fit in the top of the box.

I could have sworn my sub box was bigger.

Depends on your AD, but yes they should've given you a big box. At least that's what mine came in

Don't sweat it, I'm sure they will have a bigger box for it somewhere or will call you when they get one

Thanks. I thought for a long time it was too big but after looking at it a few times i like it. Makes my sub feel small.

Your box looks so Cute !!!

It's called Cost Saving measures Sir.
I've noticed 2 sizes of original Rolex sport box on sale in the local ebay market

I believe you have the S size box
New ~ USD 100 ( Top photo )

The standard sports box~ USD150-200
(actual box to house the JC watch)

JC DSD Box

AD was likely right according to Rolex.

I believe the larger boxes are for TT and PM watches according to Rolex. The metal determines the box not the size of the watch. Then again since 1% of the population cares they will just swap for you and give the next guy a smaller box.

I believe the box comes in 3 sizes. Did they exchange it for the medium? or the large?

Size doesnt matter. I'll tell you how to make both the box and your D-Blue worth a great deal of money ! Priceless !

●Get James Cameron to sign his autograph on your Rolex box
( He is currently on location shooting the Avatar movie sequels )
●Request him to also write down the random serial number on box
●Snap a photo of JC wearing your watch
● Take a We-fie of you with JC
● Get the photos authenticated

Then watch Every0ne on the TRF drool over your DSSD Ref 116600 D-Blue

Basically there is no real correct box but in general most DSSD do come in the larger green box.But as the watches are not shipped in the green boxes its whatever the ADs have on there shelves at point of sale.Plus now the boxes are made in several parts of the world so box numbers could be different for any box and any watch depending on what part of the world the watch was bought. Now Rolex USA is a totally separate company from Rolex SA and the rest of the world.

Hey!This is a fun thread for me. Here's another original Humongous Rolex Big Box sold separately(I think it's meant for the Rolex President though)Heck! Not only you can store your D-Blue Ref 116600 inside but stow away the Nat Geo documentary dvd and add provenance to your watch

The woman in the AD was all set to give me the small box when I bought my DSSD; but fortunately I had worn in my Omega PO 45.5 chronograph in to the store, but wanted to wear the DSSD out.

She tried to put the Planet Ocean in the Rolex small box for me and it wouldn't shut - so then she got me the largest box they had... and it still wouldn't shut - so she gave me the large box to take away, and then put my PO in the shipping coffin - so turned out quite well!

That deepsea challenge movie is quite a watch (excuse the pun!) - must've been scary plunging down in that capsule... knowing the extreme forces being applied all around you; assured that the slightest weakness or fault, and the whole thing will implode on you and you'll be squished to putty.

Then when he's down there, he peers out the window at the robotic arm, to see the hand sweeping casually and accurately around the dial of the Deepsea Challenge Rolex - built on the same premise as the DSSD itself (just a more extreme version with a larger case and thicker crystal.

Pretty amazing.

Megan...that is a fantastic looking case. A show piece in some collections or the right property. Unfortunately it would probably end up in the bottom of the wardrobe in my house.

Dispite having the watch I still haven't seen that film, is it pay per view or can it be seen for free anywhere these days ??

It's not on Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Sky; or anywhere 'on demand' as far as I could find.

I had to buy the BluRay from Amazon.co.uk (it comes in both 3D and 2D in the same box), and I think it was the 'Polish' version, although the soundtrack is in English and it worked ok played through a UK PS4: http://amzn.eu/gIaIXZi

I recall it was on Nat Geo many moons ago - but it's not one they've repeated recently.
