Thinking about a Pam563

I've been thinking about a Pam563.
I have almost exclusively dark dials and was looking at a white explorer when WHAM! Out of nowhere this white dialed 8 day appears on my radar. The ExpII just didn't do it for me on the wrist. I think it's the font on the bezel.
I'm not a flipper and realize it's (white dials) not a doll of the Paneristi but there's something about it. Classic case shape, manual wind, 8 day, etc, etc. and no ridiculous snap back nonsense. There's not much to see so I don't care either way about a display back.
Am I nuts to get a white dial when I don't even have one of the classics?
If I did flip it, I probably wouldn't do very well, but I can get it for at least 20% off, so that takes care of some of the depreciation.
Any 563 love stories out there?

If I was to get a white faced Luminor, that's the one. I like the green lume on it. I would bet if you sold it later you'd lose another 10%+, but you'll want to keep it! That watch would look awesome on some more colorful straps to IMHO. Thinking green gator, yellow shark, etc.

If you love a watch get it and forget the value. I did that with my 643. I'll never get my money back, but don't expect to ever sell it either.

Now this is what I'm talking about. I see this and think, white? What the hell am I thinking?
Maybe the answer is as simple as it seems. A simple classic and clean 560 AND a busy dialed crisp white 563 with the second hand.

I agree with your thoughts. The white face looks better with 3 hands.

There is just something about a white dial PAM that is so refreshing, clean, and crisp... Specially when it has the lacquered white dial. Love mine.

white dial? 3 hands.

also, i find the "8 DAYS" text to blend better with the 3 hands models, as it creates 4 lines of balanced text. so, in that sense, 563 could be viewed as a better choice than the 113.

DSW could score you one to help even more with depreciation, if you are concerned about that.

I tried the 499 because I'm interested in a white dial got something different. I love the look on display but it just didn't suit me. The 563 is a stunner though and if it suited me, I wouldn't hesitate.

Good luck

Looks really nice on your wrist! My cousin has a white dialed 40mm PAM, whose reference number is escaping me, that looks excellent.

I have been doing some consulting work on the side and just picked up another job. I told my wife that it's "the watch fund". So, I think it may be time to get serious about this decision. In my research and combing over available photos, I'm thinking that the white 563 is a winner for my mostly dark dialed collection. I usually prefer curved crystals, but this dial is busy enough without that extra distortion effect. So I'm leaning toward the 563. If I find that I really love it, and want a second Panerai, I'll look at a base model with a curved crystal.
I'll let you all know if I finally make a decision. I've been on the hunt for a new watch for several months now, going back and forth on a bunch of brands and models, but the injection of some cash is really adding fuel to the fire.
There's a lot of doom and gloom talk around the brand lately, but I think that's probably more of a problem for the collectors and not the average punter. (Though something to consider, and why I'd need a significant discount to make this happen.)
